That is true right now, but wouldn't be true after the convention. There are at least 12 states that have "sore loser" laws that would prevent Trump from being on the general election ballot as an independent after being on the primary ballot for one of the parties. And the filing deadlines for a lot of other states will have already passed by the convention. So if Trump went into the convention with 35% of the delegates, for example, but lost the nomination in a brokered convention, he would not have any way to run as an independent and win. Now he could run as an independent in some states, but only as a spoiler to make sure Hillary won.
That’s been part of my tagline for a few days.
Actually, in that case you would have Trump and Cruz asking the delegates for Rubio, Carson, etc for their votes. I don't think either of them would drop out in favor of the other if the vote was fairly close on the first ballot.
They will never be the majority again if they pull his off. They will lose most of their seats because the new obama/hil/voter base will never ever vote for a Republican for decades.
They don’t call it the “Stupid Party” for nothing!!!
Yes, he did. His main fault was lack of interest in
what his crooked associates were doing. Oh, and he had the personal morality of another Bill Clinton. But as president, he is under-appreciated. I’m glad to see Wilson is finally getting his, though. LOL
This is a bunch of scare talk. Trump will likely run the table and cough up a decisive win that nobody can challenge.
I think the pundits for some reason think people like you and me and the many others here are stupid, and not main stream. I’m a physician and loyal republican. I think I’ve voted straight ticket every election since old enough to vote. But I will tell you that if Trump were a democrat it would be hard not to vote for him, unless he were running against Cruz, and even then he’d probably get my vote.
BUT THE MAN IS RUNNING ON OUR TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And they’re trying to find a way not to support him, when he has the potential of winning in a land side, and I mean a landslide?
That’s precisely why they need the border to stay open, continuing the flow of illegal aliens and the supply of cheap labor.
This certainly provides an answer to the question, “Why is Yeb! still in the race when he seems to be going backwards consistently?” If he was aware of and knew himself to be the beneficiary of treachery like this, it explains his reticence to see reality as we see it, and do the sensible thing and drop out of the race. In fact, if this is true then his perspective on reality is more accurate than ours.
I think that’s why Yeb! and Kasuck have both been so adamant that Trump will not be the nominee. They know something we don’t.
The latest meme-building by the Demagogic Party shills in the media includes two things -- one, that all of a sudden Ted Cruz is the real conservative in the race (despite having ignored Cruz, or trying to smear him in ineffective ways), and two, that there's some kind of chicanery going on to deny the nomination to Donald Trump and have a brokered convention. Both are just DNC talking points being pushed to depress turnout, because that's their only shot in 2016.
