Trump"s Plan for Israeli Peace Talks
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump revealed in an interview Thursday that forcing peace talks on Israel will head his priorities if elected , and that the responsibility for the lack of peace lies on the Jewish state, not the Palestinian Authority.
Donald TrumpAhead of his trip to Israel this month, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump revealed in an interview Thursday that forcing peace talks on Israel will head his priorities if elected , and that the onus for the lack of peace lies on the Jewish state, not the Palestinian Authority (PA).
"I have a real question as to whether or not both sides want to make it," Trump told The Associated Press, clarifying that he has more concerns regarding "one side in particular."
"A lot will have to do with Israel and whether or not Israel wants to make the deal , whether or not Israel's willing to sacrifice certain things," Trump said. "They may not be, and I understand that, and I'm OK with that. But then you're just not going to have a deal."
Trump's focus on Israel may strike some as ironic, given that the state is currently embroiled in an Arab terror wave that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has actively encouraged, recently calling the murder of Jews "peaceful."' The real estate guru promised: "if I win, I'll let you know six months from the time I take office" whether or not a peace deal is possible.
"I think if I get elected, that would be something I'd really like to do," said Trump without specifying how he would achieve an elusive peace deal. "Because so much death, so much turmoil, so much hatred , that would be to me a great achievement. As a single achievement, that would be a really great achievement."
Trump's gung ho approach to starting up peace talks may raise concerns, given how they echo US President Barack Obama's insistence on addressing the issue. US Secretary of State John Kerry forced through nine-month-long talks starting in late 2013, that the PA torpedoed in April 2014 when it signed a unity deal with Hamas. The talks were accompanied by an upswing in terror attacks.
Judea-Samaria building a 'huge sticking point'
Trump said he would meet early with top regional leaders, visiting Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu "sometime after Christmas, probably."
"You know, I'm going to be probably going over there pretty soon and I want to see him, I want to see other people, I want to get some ideas on it," said Trump, who claimed he was a "big, big fan" of Israel.
According to the businessman, the only way to solve the Israel-Palestinian issue is "if you had a real dealmaker, somebody that knew what he or she is doing. I'll be able to tell in one sit-down meeting with the real leaders."
While avoiding specifics about whether the PA's demands are legitimate, Trump called Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria a "huge sticking point" in talks.
Asked if his goal is a two-state solution, by which Israel would be divided to create a "Palestine," he said, "well, I'm not going to even say that."
But he expressed his enthusiasm at the prospect of making a peace deal, saying, "if you can make that deal, you can make any deal. It's probably the toughest deal to make."
Regarding the prospect of peace, In late October PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said all of Israel is "the occupation," showing his intentions to conquer the entire state, and last month he revealed for the first time that he rejected the offer of a Palestinian state back in 2008.
Abbas, whose term in office officially ended in January 2009, gave credence in June to calls by Jewish nationalists arguing that a Palestinian state should be set up in Jordan, when he called Jordanian and Palestinian Arabs "one people living in two states."

During his speech and taking questions, Trump refused to say he supported Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel and he was booed. He also, like Obama, puts all the sacrifices on Israel in reaching a peace agreement. Not good.
Another day, another set of reckless lying by the Hillary Choir
Never listen to what the Leftist clown media say a Conservative or Republican said. Always look at the REAL statement.
What Trump actually said is that Israel would have to give up things for a deal. If Israel was UNWILLING to make those scarifies he would be fine with that.
What Trump said is he would basically stand the last 30 year of US-Israel relations on it head. Trump is saying he will end the current process of DC pressuring Israel to make deals Israel does not want.
No matter how “holy” your think your cause, lying is still a sin you know.
Don’t let the habitual liars for Hillary fool you. Watch the speech for yourself

Trump is for restoring America FIRST!!! That;s what I will be voting for him to do. I’m tired of America being the big brother to Israel and always having to fight Israel’s fights. The US should not be the one to initiate any peace agreement. That is just as stupid as asking your friend to ask the girl across the room if he would dance with him.
He also stated that Israel is a Country the same as America and Russia and other countries don't have the right to go in and dictate what other Countries will or will not do...
Palestine wants all of Israel and that land is Jewish land, it was given to them by God, and Israel is not going to be made to give anymore of anything under Trump's plan, unless Israel wants to...
Let's see what happens when Trump gets back from Israel...let the nay sayers jack up their jaws from stuff they don't know about and lets see what happens between BiBi and Trump....Trump was asked by BiBi to make a ad and BiBi won his campaign with it...their friends, let's just wait...
“A lot will have to do with Israel and whether or not Israel wants to make the deal , whether or not Israel’s willing to sacrifice certain things,” Trump said. “They may not be, and I understand that, and I’m OK with that. But then you’re just not going to have a deal.”
Of course they did leave out the sentence about Israel having already given up a lot.
Bogus!
Exactly, every day brings a new lie to try to hurt Trump.
Trump will be the best friend Israel ever had in the White House!
Moving the embassy to Jerusalem has been held off because of specific terror threats against the diplomatic staff...IMO
We are dealing with a death cult....
I think Israel has already made too many sacrifices. It is time to demand that the Palestinian make some concessions or just let Israel bomb them to oblivion to end the problem. Whether Trump wants to acknowledge it or not, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
The Trump Haters are out in force today.
He also said Israel has already given up a lot and not been recognized for it. As far as a deal, he didn’t want to commit to any piece before talks even start.
I don’t hate Trump. I hope Bibi can help him to be a little better informed during his visit. At this point, I would still vote for Trump, but I didn’t like some of the things he said concerning Israel. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel whether Trump acknowledges it or not.
This is the very bullhockey I decried last evening here on FR, and was told by a kind soul that I’m mistaken; that Trump is on Israel’s side. Well, he chooses a strange way to show it.
I take from this that Trump thinks the ragheads sincerely want peace, but Israel doesn’t. And that IS the case.
The only additional information you need is that, to the PLO, “peace” means Israel gone from this planet, and ragheads in total ownership of the Holy Land.
I’m all for Trump....until he starts screwing over Israel.
Well said!
I listened to what Trump said, twice. He says Israel will have to make more sacrifices and declined to acknowledge Israel as the capital of Jerusalem. Israel has already given up too much and made too many sacrifices to those who will not be satisfied with anything less than Israel’s destruction.
Trump may not acknowledge Jerusalem as the capital, but God does.
