WASHINGTON (CNN) - Donald Trump leads the Republican field by 20 points in South Carolina, according to a new poll.
The Fox News poll released on Wednesday shows Trump with the support of 35% of Republicans in the state, more than double Ben Carson's 15% or Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio's 14%. Jeb Bush wins 5% support, and every other candidate has 2% or fewer.
Among Democrats, Hillary Clinton has a 45-point lead over Bernie Sanders, 65% to 21%. Martin O'Malley, the third candidate in the race, has 3%.
South Carolina is polled less often than the first two primary states, Iowa and New Hampshire, and its voting results are often swayed by how candidates fare in the first two contests. But based on current polling, the state is shaping up to be one of Trump and Clinton's strongest.

The problem is that Trump could never compete with the sitting senator from South Carolina in that state. Surely the recently elected senator would easily beat trump or be a close second.

I'd like comments on the assumption by mostly Dems and some Repubs, and the media, that Hillary would mop the floor with Trump and that both houses of congress would be in jeopardy along with Republican governorships. What do the latest polls show Trump doing against the Hildebeest?

Speaking of Fox News, did all of you catch O’Gasbag tonight? The two guys from FBN, Lou Dobbs and Stuart Varney, handed O’G his ass over the Trump bit about keeping out the muzzies. It was soo good, I actually watched the re-broadcast. They had O’G seething. They basically agreed with Trump and told O’G that in his earlier “interview” with Trump, Trump won!
