Nightmare scenario for establishment: Trump or Cruz
The Hill ^ | December 11, 2015 | Niall Stanage

Three candidates for the Republican nomination have broken away from the rest of the pack, and two of them - businessman Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz - give the GOP establishment nightmares.

That leaves the third member of the trio, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, potentially well placed to pick up the support of center-right Republican voters who are looking for someone to stop Trump and Cruz at almost any cost.

Who are these supposed voters who are "looking for someone to stop Trump and Cruz at almost any cost?"

The article is a standard attack on Trump with some stabs at Cruz. It quotes people I have never heard of.

"GOP strategist John Feehery" who is now a columnist and "Ron Bonjean, a GOP consultant".

They sound like low level Washington insiders who know nothing about real voters.

Anyway, Rubio is now the great hope of Trump Cruz opponents. There is no mention of Jeb Bush.

I am for Cruz, but it seems almost as if the GOPe, and their allies, have been recently pushing Cruz. The strategy is probably intended to split the vote, and then engineer a brokered convention where they can crown one of their approved (don't rock the boat) minions.

Need to keep an eye on the GOP -- they are up to no good.

You have nailed my worst fear. They are going to split them and us, and we will end up with Bernie. Or worse, Hitlery.

The Big Lie is that moderate voters don’t love Trump’s positions.
If they didn’t an establishment candidate would be leading now!

The establishment thinks that Trump’s moderates would go to Rubio or Christie and not to Cruz.
Maybe so, maybe not.

They sure got that wrong - ain't no "center right" voters gonna turn to Rubio. Left to center left maybe, but not center-right...

But I can imagine Cruz being happy to be Trump’s VP.
Not sure Trump would settle as Secretary of State, but would happily renegotiate TPP, TPA, Iran treaty, etc in a year and then go home, job done.

The "feud" between Donald Trump (whom I admire) and Ted Cruz (my choice) is a totally manufactured MSM-GOPe-RINO fabrication.

Qui Bono ?

Jeb Bush.

Meanwhile, Ted and Donald are enjoying the extra news coverage ...

I intend to vote for Cruz or Trump. I believe that Cruz would make a better president, but I also believe that Trump will get the nomination and go on to win the presidency.

Either of these men would change America and make our country great again. Both Trump and Cruz love this country and both will fight to save her. I can’t say that about ANY of the other candidates.

To be clear, Rubio will never get my vote under any circumstances. I would sooner stay home and watch Hillary burn this country to the ground.

If the election were held today, I think Trump would win....we could do much worse, and have.

Go Trump ~ Go Cruz
