A new poll suggests that a plurality of Americans favor a temporary ban on Muslim immigration like the one proposed by Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

The survey by conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports found that 46 percent of likely voters would favor a policy preventing Muslim immigrants from entering the country until tighter screening procedures can be implemented, while 40 percent would oppose such a measure.

Among likely Republican voters, 66 percent would support the ban, while 24 percent would oppose it.

Just 30 percent of likely Democratic voters would favor the proposed ban, while 55 percent said they would oppose it.

Those with no party affiliation said they would support the ban by a 45-39 margin.

89% of Republicans support settling all Muslim immigrants on the Upper East Side, in Hollywood, Chicago, Georgetown and Martha’s Vinyard.

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any
class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the
interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such
period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or

Most American's instinctively know that what he is proposing is right.

It is true that there is a lot of hype, misinformation, ignorance, and out and out lies being circulated in an attempt to slam Trump.

But, what is the actual truth of the matter? Is Trump's proposal illegal? Is his proposal un-Constitutional? Is his proposal un-American?

In an effort to inform American citizens of the facts and help answer these questions, please read the following.

8 US Code 1182 (Section a. Number 10, Paragraph f.)
Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

This is in the U.S. Code of Laws. It was passed by Congress in 1952 and has been the law of the land ever since. And, by the way, at the time it was passed by a Democratic Congress.

So, to be clear, if the President determines that murders/killers/enemies are infiltrating any group of people to do harm to America, he has been given the power by Congress to stop or restrict that groups immigration or non-immigration status and ability to come into the country by proclamation. This is precisely what Trump has proposed…and for obvious reasons.

It is NOT un-American, it is U.S. Law.

It is NOT un-Constitutional, Article 6 Paragraph 3 of the U.S. Constitution regarding no religious test refers specifically and only to the election of Congress...not to immigration.

As President, Donald Trump would have full legal authority under U.S. Law to do exactly what he has proposed.

All of the hype, outrage, and statements to the contrary are either political grandstanding, abject ignorance of the law, or willful lies regarding the issue.

"...a policy preventing Muslim immigrants from entering the country until tighter screening procedures can be implemented..."

The laws providing for that are in place...have been in place for years. Obama doesn't want to use (this because he wants to flood America with Muslims).....(a) Classes of aliens ineligible for visas or admissionExcept as otherwise provided in this chapter,
aliens who are inadmissible under the following paragraphs are ineligible to receive visas and ineligible to be admitted to the United States:
(1) Health-related grounds
(A) In general Any alien—

President Jimmy Carter got this passed with a Democratic House/Senate........Instead all talking heads, MSM, Republicans & Democrats/Progressives are calling the "rest period" of admitting aliens "unconstitutional" stopping the flow of immigrants for security reasons has nothing to do with the Constitution!

Be sure your congressperson and senator know YOU know about 8 U.S. Code 1182
Trump was right again!

Watch what happens to Trump’s favorability ratings when America is hit AGAIN by terrorists between now and next November. It is sure to happen based on our STILL porous border and lax immigration rules.

"Just"? 30% of Dems is yuuuuge! That's even more true, when one considers how the talking heads are now treating Trump like Satan incarnate since his proposal.

Not only that, but BO is sure to give a blame the victims type address again and tell us that more tolerance and gun control is the solution.

The guy used to have such great political instincts, but he has a real blind spot here.

“The laws providing for [preventing Muslim immigrants ... until tighter screening procedures can be implements] are in place...have been in place for years.”

Yes, and have been used by Democrats FDR and Carter to justify all kinds of discriminatory behaviour to foreign nationals and even U.S. citizens of foreign descent or origin.

That being said, I think Trump is doing a bit of grandstanding in order to inflame the media and opponents into saying things he hasn’t said - he’s playing them like a fiddle. He knows that his “until” could be very quick - we know the answer now - radicalized Muslims - as radicalized Muslims go beyond simple “religion” and into belief in a form of Government antithetical to ours. Several Muslims have bravely stepped forward to define the steps towards radicalization, “beliefs” that if stopped would allow the practice of a “reformed” Muslim faith that many Muslims actually practice as assimilated Americans. Is is fairly obvious that radicalized Muslims are essentially equivalent to the clear and present danger of allowing a Communist (or other self professed enemy) into the country knowing they intended the violent overthrow of the Government and were working in concert with others to that end. If an immigrant is Muslim, an enhanced review of their background (instead of ignoring even their declared residences) should be in order to verify no ties or contacts with radical elements - including mosques that have not adopted a reformist agenda.

I do find it interesting that after Obama’s speech on Sunday night - a speech that even liberals were disappointed in, and which was gaining steam with people recognizing it showed how out of touch he was with the problem and how he was failing to do anything more than the current failed course of action, Trump took the growing recognition of a problem with Obama and refocused everyone on himself, changing the national subject. Too bad - if only he had waited a few days.

And for that matter, why not deport all people that claims they are Muslim as well? To fully protect ourselves! Makes sense no?

“Makes sense no?”

Ferdinand and Isabella figured that out in the 15th century.

Expulsion is the only answer.

This is one of those issues where a secret ballot would increase the keep them out vote by at least 10 points.

"Imagine if Trump got 30% of the Dem vote. :-)"

I'd bet dollars to donuts that 30% of Democrats are Black and Hispanic and Gay.

This single issue could split the Dim coalition.
