On one level, it seems like Donald Trump has taken a big step beyond anything he has done before by proposing to ban all Muslims from entering the United States.
On another level, this is what Donald Trump has done throughout the campaign: make comments that push the envelope beyond what anyone had imagined, igniting a firestorm, bringing condemnation from much of the media and political establishment, enabling him to dominate the campaign for yet another week. And in the process, he casts himself as the truth-teller, the man who can keep the country safe, and often rises in the polls.
In a taped segment for "World News Tonight," Barbara Walters flatly asked Trump: "Are you a bigot?"
"Not at all," he replied. "Probably the least of any person you've met."
The truth is, some Republican primary voters—no one knows how many—will embrace the idea of keeping Muslims out of the country. I’ve heard a number of commentators say privately that Trump will probably pick up a few points in the polls.
It’s hard to imagine that Trump would have gone there had it not been for the San Bernardino massacre. The fact that the female half of the couple came in on a spousal visa does raise serious questions about who gets to come to America.
We are now in for a week of saturation coverage of whether Trump went too far, which keeps the white-hot spotlight on the front-runner. Whether the outrage of fellow Republican politicians blunts his progress or boosts his standing is, for the moment, the overriding question in politics.

It is a pity that so many in the MSM don’t get any at home so that they only get pleasure by going after Trump, who is essentially correct. Keep Syrians all out except proven Christians.
I’m in Cruz’s camp but with the 1952 thingy and Carter outlawing Iranians in 1979 is reason enough to say he is absolutely right in doing his duty in saving the Homeland.
I loved it even better when the LSM tried to get Ted to turn on Trump and he complimented him by saving, I like the idea that he’s trying to secure the border.
Trump is the master of positioning. Every Muslim terrorist attack from now thru the election is only going to boost his chances.
Especially when we have the next few incidents leading into the election.
The Dems are done. Bagdad Bob did a better job at propaganda than Obola’s people.
What kind of sense does that make?

But regardless, it all keeps helping Trump.

The funniest part of it is that it places conservatives who don't support Trump in the position of defending him, like Rush, and others.
The media is doing an awesome job of helping Trump at the polls.
The incompetency of the GOPe knows no bounds. Cruz is still #1 with me. The spectacle of GOPe politicians that made such a big deal about the "loyalty oath" trying to extricate themselves from the corner they painted themselves into...priceless.

Trump is also demonstrating that high priced consultants aren't worth the money they've suckered from politicians. Do you hear me Rick Wilson, Mike Murphy, and Turdblossum?

Lincoln was assassinated only after the Civil War was done—his mission was complete. Trump’s mission to make America great is just starting.
Trump has a genius I.Q., a photographic memory and street smarts. THIS is what makes him so white knuckle scary. He’s got an armory full of surprise punches and the Patton like aggressiveness to make them hurt. Apart from the politics, we need to make him into a teaching aid for conservative leaders and our brightest children. We learn from our savants or we die.
