Republican chaos deepens as candidates REFUSE to say they will disown Trump if he wins the nomination

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest dared the GOP candidates to say they'd defy a GOP pledge if Trump becomes the nominee No campaign has come forward saying they're willing to toss the pledge in the trash Ben Carson said he'd support whoever the voters chose as the nominee Rick Santorum and George Pataki said they'd abide by the pledge - because Trump's not going to win the nomination he GOP presidential campaigns are keeping tight-lipped after White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest dared them to back out of a pledge to support Donald Trump if he becomes the Republican nominee.

Earnest called on the GOP candidates to buck the party's loyalty pledge over the real estate mogul's plan to ban non-American Muslims from entering the United States.

So far, the campaigns are refusing to disown Trump – sticking to a pledge that they all signed that was meant to keep the billionaire from launching an independent bid.

Ben Carson gave a tepid response in support of the document, saying on CNN, 'Obviously, if the people choose him, I think we have an obligation to respect the will of the people.'

The other major campaigns are staying mum, DailyMail.com has found.

A spokesman for Rick Santorum said falling in line wouldn't be necessary.

'We don't need to worry about that because Rick Santorum will be the GOP nominee,' his spokesman told DailyMail.com.

Santorum's Real Clear Politics polling average stands at 0.3 percent, while Trump's is at 29.3 percent.

A spokesman for former New York Governor George Pataki, who's polling at 0 percent, gave a similar line.

'Governor Pataki has always said – he will not support Donald Trump, because he knows he won’t be the Republican nominee,' said David Catalfamo.

The campaigns used the opportunity to hit Earnest too.

'Any Republican campaign that takes political advice from the Obama White House should be automatically disqualified,' Santorum spokesman Matt Beynon added.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said it was 'absurd for Josh Earnest to lecture anyone about what it takes to be commander in chief.'

But Huckabee, like his higher polling rivals, also wouldn't say that he'd ditch the pledge if The Donald becomes the nominee.

Any republican’s response should be “tell Josh Ernest he can go eff himself”.

Why doesn’t anyone ask Josh Earnest if Obama will resist attempts to adopt sharia law in the our country?

Why doesn’t anyone ask Barack Obama if he will pledge to appoint judges who will refuse to allow sharia law into their courtrooms?

Uh, to reject the nominee would be a fool’s game. And the plans by any in the GOP to deny the nomination to the choice of the voters is, too.

How, exactly, is this "chaos"? My interpretation would be closer to "unity".

Gee, what does one expect Josh Earnest to say? Why would ANY Republican candidate take that bait? Yeah, I know, some of them are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, but they’re not THAT stupid.

The universal response should be along the lines of, “Mr. Earnest would more profitably use his time trying to advise his boss to act in the interests of the American people, rather than in lamely trying to interfere in the choices that Republican primary voters are getting prepared to make.” IOW, politely telling him to “phuck off.”

OMG. I thought you had typed these lines to be humorous. I can’t believe they are actually straight out of the article. These zero-percent tier candidates are delusional.
