Billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump has not faded in the fall, as Republican professionals hoped, but has his biggest lead yet and support from more than a third of GOP voters, according to a CNN/ORC poll released just 58 days before the Iowa presidential caucuses.
Trump has 36 percent support, 9 percent higher than he had in October more than double the 16 percent backing for ultraconservative Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, his closest competitor.
In particular, Trump is a runaway choice of GOP voters surveyed who do not have college degrees, his support rising above 40 percent.
Ben Carson has fallen back to 14 percent from a 22 percent showing in October, and is tied for third place with Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is far back at 4 percent, with Jeb Bush and Carly Fiorina at 3 percent apiece.
Trump had an explanation in a Thursday interview with CNN: His campaign takes on added life when people die....

Sort of like gun sales.
Yeah, well, seems to be a result of the federal government facilitating the deaths of its own citizens, and then threatening to persecute its own citizens for speaking out against the tools being used by the federal government to kill them.
Oh, and threatening to render them defenseless against those tools at the same time.
Go figure.
It’s all Donald Trump’s fault./s
He makes people feel “safe”, because they KNOW that he is a true LEADER and will get things done.
It’s like he’s taunting the terrorists: Go ahead. Do your worst. You’re just helping to serve up your nemesis, namely the Donald.
Mouth breathing rubes built America. The sophisticated set denies that they did.
Of course Trumps numbers are up. Obama and the government are importing mass murdering Muslim terrorist into the country. Some of which just turned a Christmas party into a horrific bloody mass murder scene.
And the White House and his leftist associates want to import an additional 200,000 Mideastern refugees?
Go Trump
My opinion of Trump is the same as it was 4 years ago when he was teasing a run somewhere to the left of Mitt Romney.
Heck, last month Trump supporters were being elevated as not only college graduates, but crossing demographic lines and taking independents.
This month is the GOPEEEE full Monty against his staggering long run of success, being a fixture at the top of the polls, by double digits, and these ever increasing numbers flying out, just when everyone thought their other guy had a wiggle somewhere of 3 points. LOL!!
Yep. We added two more handguns to our collection yesterday. Gander Mountain was BUSY!
Is he not just the coolest thing. I love Trump, and I love those devastating numbers of his! Too much fun! He stays out of the weeds, goes for the throat, and doubles down in a trap.
He fits every man’s mood who wants to win this whole thing with guns blazing. AND HE IS DONOR FREE!!!!!
BTW, were you able to catch the GOPEEE whining how many GOPEEEE Republicans expect to lose, when Trump grabs the nomination? Four of the b@$^@%$ are in tight SENATE races and could get punched out.
Have we not prayed for such an outcome? Did I remember to say, I love Trump?
Ya know Cripplecreek, I get a chuckle when I read your constant diatribe against Trump and then read your tagline.
Ping!
Well, he is sure to fade any day now, why, surely before Christmas.
Then he gets his ass kicked by carson in Iowa.
Oh yeah, have it on good authority from someone who actually lives there and has the boob as his gov, Kasich is gonna smear him in ohio.
Yup, fizzle out any minute now, need to take a selfie holding my breath, or I might be too late.
I wouldn’t brag about that.
LOL! Kasich?
With a straight face.(presumed)
A Kasich smear just sounds gross.
