International businessman, entrepreneur, builder and reality TV star Donald J. Trump once again displayed his uncanny and unprecedented ability to both dominate the national dialogue and roil the political waters with his most recent proposal to temporarily halt Muslim immigration.

Sure hope he’s right. I would prefer Ted Cruz for President as he is Ronald Reagan reincarnate, IMO.
But Trump is a bulldozer, and that’s what we need to win. Even a bulldozer needs someone to steer it, and that’s where Ted Cruz comes in. He would be superb as Trump’s Veep.
Ronald Reagan was beloved by blue-collar working guys, for two reasons - 1) He promised to make America great again, 2) He came across like a regular guy
As a result, he won Massachusetts twice, New York twice, New Jersey twice, Maryland twice, and Illinois twice.
Can Ted Cruz do that?
How is Ted Cruz doing among your blue collar union member friends?
What states that Romney lost can Ted Cruz win?
I also think that Trump is the battering ram needed to get the door down, take Cruz in with him, get the clean-up well underway, then hand the reins over to Cruz in 4 years to keep it going.
I heard something on The Kelly File last night from Glenn Beck. He was implying that Trump is the fascist that is going to come to power during end times because everyone falls for him and thinks he’s going to be the guy who is going to “save” the country. First time I’ve heard that. I think Glenn Beck is a little odd...to say the least, but could he be onto something?
Glenn Beck thinks he is Dear Leader, IMO.
Soon he will have Pat & Stu following him around, each wearing a general hat & frantically taking notes.
Glenn hates Trump & expects others to, as well. He professes to love Ted Cruz but admits that his support is usually a kiss of death.
No, but he could be ON something...
Beck’s grasp on reality is tenuous at best.
Beck has most certainly lost his mind. He gets more kooky by the day.
to sharpen your point a little, what states that Romney won can Cruz win?

The same voters that are held in utter contempt by the pundit class and their allies in the political establishment.
That's sheer fantasy. Even if Cruz agreed to be Trump's VP, and I can't see any reason why Cruz would want to do so, one thing is clear by now and that's nobody, nobody tells Trump what to do. Trump makes his own decisions based on his own beliefs and is incapable of admitting he's wrong or changing his direction. Unless Cruz stayed in lock step with whatever President Trump said at the moment then Cruz would soon be marginalized and ignored.
in 1980 the power establishment pushed and got ghwbush for veep.
look for a Rubio type to be pushed.
Doubtful...more like he is on something.
Well....the intramural warfare among Rep candidates is starting to get nasty, but Trump and Cruz have not yet laid a glove on each other. Must be a reason.
Agreed, Trump is the leader, he doesn’t need a handler to lead him. With that said, I think Cruz would be a great VP. The VP role is not chief of staff, it is more of a separate role that I think Cruz could run with and get more visibility.
I think Cruz’s talent would be wasted at the VP position (other than being next in line for the presidency). Would much rather see Cruz play a more active role and position himself to get elected in a later election cycle (he’s only 44). However, he does need to work on his electability. He’s got solid support among us conservatives but he’ll need to broaden that appeal to beat the Democrats in a general election - like what Reagan had to do and what Trump is doing right now.
Agreed.I hope that is the ticket.I would like some glimmer of hope for my children.
Trump and Cruz know there is no point in fighting with each other over minimal policy issues. They have agreed to not destroy each other.
I thin their agreement goes like this;
If not me, then you.
With the two of them against all the others, there is little oxygen left for any of the others and they are slowly suffocating.
Cruz wants to be president. Eight years in the VP spot is not a path to that, absent the death or resignation of a sitting president. George Bush did go from VP to the Presidency but before that you have to go back to Martin van Buren. I could see him going from the Senate to Texas governorship to president much easier that Senate to VP to Presidency.
