A Pennsylvania bakery has said that it's Trump-themed cookies are 'vastly' outselling the Biden-themed alternative by a margin of almost 6 to 1. Owner Kathleen Lochel has told Fox News that some customers have even been driving from out to state to pick up the treats.

Ohio’s most populous county, Franklin, switched to paper poll books after experiencing technical difficulties on Election Day, Secretary of State Frank LaRose said Tuesday. Officials warned residents to brace for long lines and wait times early on election morning when polling workers began using the old-fashioned method to check in voters after learning that their electronic check-in system was not fully updated with new data. "It's important to note that this does NOT impact voting machines in any way, and only modifies how voters are checked in," a spokesperson for La Rose said on Twitter.

Fox News’s Tucker Carlson began his Election Eve program on Monday with a single image from President Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend. While he said the picture does not predict how the race will turn out, it is the perfect metaphor for the 2020 election the state of the U.S. “Butler is like a lot of places you will find in this country once you head inland from the coasts,” he said. “It’s a former industrial town, the made Pullman railcars there for many years, but it’s been losing population for decades. They still have nice people...

Didn't see a thread for how the Stock Market is reacting today. At 10:24am the market is up 670 points and as an Investment Manager in his 60's I'm telling everyone from experience this is the smart money deciding that the Republicans will have full control of the House, Senate and Presidency.

"The 1619 Project is an ongoing initiative from the New York Times Magazine that began in August 2019, the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery. It aims to reframe the country's history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative." (The 1619 Project – The New York Times Magazine, Aug. 14, 2019.) It's "an ongoing initiative" because they must continue to invent lies to push their socialist agenda. "It aims to reframe history" through the blatant use of lies and obfuscation for the express purpose of...

Through plain speaking and twitter and rallies Donald Trump has reinvented the presidential relationship with the people. Feminist accusations of “crimes” (including unwanted hugging and kissing) which would have destroyed almost anyone else’s career have not touched him. This is a robust not a staid conservatism. It is hard to imagine someone emerging in the post Trump era with all the political strengths Trump has shown. But the need for conservatism to adjust to new demographics seems undeniable to me. Otherwise a permanent leftist Democrat majority in America is unavoidable. Huge numbers of women are unlikely to retreat to being...

The lie driving this election is that President Donald Trump is to blame for the nation's COVID-19 deaths. Democrats are blanketing the country with ads claiming Trump bungled the virus response. Biden blames Trump for 230,000 deaths. Even Andrew Cuomo is parroting the lie. It's Cuomo who has blood on his hands, for forcing nursing homes to take in infected patients. Trump may taunt "COVID, COVID, COVID" but actions are what count. He marshaled private companies to produce massive supplies of ventilators, erected field hospitals and swept away regulations to speed up the development of treatments. The COVID-19 death rate...

A Yale psychiatry professor who has concluded from afar that President Trump is mentally ill, insisting he and his supporters should be locked up, now suggests Trump-supporting parts of the nation should be completely demolished. Evoking the Allies' leveling of Dresden, Germany, in World War II, Bandy X. Lee says leveling major cites may be the only way to remove the "spell" Trump has cast on his backers. In a thread on Twitter, Lee recalled that a reporter related to her a conversation with his grandfather, who had fled Nazi Germany, regarding the bombing of Dresden. "He said – I...

While voters may think they are choosing the “moderate” candidate Dr. Jill Biden claims her husband is, in practice they would be electing the “most progressive” — i.e. left-wing — governments in U.S. history. Here are some of the candidates who are angling for, or rumored to be under consideration, key administration posts:

Leading America: President Trump's Commitment to People, Patriotism, and Capitalism by Sean Spicer delves into what civility means in America today. People hear Joe Biden speak all the time of not believing in a red and blue America, but it is obvious that the real culprits are the Democrats. After all, they never accepted the results of the 2016 election. Even worse are those like Robert Reich, who has called for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the purpose of which is to condemn and shun those who supported President Trump. In the book, Spicer, the former White House Press Secretary...

Dayglored Note: Many Thunderbird users are finding operational issues after updating to Version 78 (including me). This FAQ addresses some of them, in particular the deprecation of TLSv1.1 and earlier, which will cause Thunderbird to be unable to send/receive email from some mail servers. I have copied the FAQ content regarding that particular issue below. The whole page is useful, and is found here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-78-faq After upgrading to Thunderbird 78, I cannot get or send email messages. One reason why this might happen is when your email provider is using outdated security protocols. Thunderbird takes protecting the privacy and security...

I have heard the horror stories of living through hurricanes. Hours of hurricane strength winds can reduce the bravest soul to despair. In the Great Lakes region, there are times of hurricane-strength winds, but the duration can be for days, not hours. If you have ever experienced the fury of one of these storms, it’s a memory you won’t forget. Huge waves slashing the coastlines, winds that seemingly never end, the howls rushing around your home like a pack of wolves gone mad. Gordon Lightfoot wrote about these storms in “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” It’s a haunting song,...

One of the most divisive presidential elections in U.S. history is likely to have a huge impact on QAnon, the sprawling conspiracy theory that has rapidly grown in the Trump era and is increasingly seen as a serious threat. The theory is centered around the belief that Trump is working to expose and prosecute a cabal of elites in media, government and Hollywood running child sex-trafficking rings, but has grown to include more broad anti-institutional beliefs that have helped it spread amid backlash to the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. It’s unclear exactly what might with happen QAnon regardless of...

Bobby Orr may have lost the support of some leftist sports writers for supporting President Donald Trump, but he still has The Coach in his corner. “You better believe it — 100%,” said Don Cherry on Monday. In addition to supporting Trump himself, Cherry also believes in Orr’s right as a free person to back whomever he chooses. “Bobby was always strong,” added Cherry. “The great ones are always independent.” It’s not lost on Cherry, however, that the hall of famer is feeling the heat after taking out a full-page ad in a Florida newspaper which backs Trump’s bid for...
