JUST IN: House Passes Reconciliation Package Funding ICE and CBP Sending Bill to Trump’s Desk

The US House of Representatives voted on Tuesday to pass the reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP, more than a week after President Trump’s June 1 deadline.

The $70 billion bill will fund the Department of Homeland Security’s immigration functions for the remainder of Trump’s term.

This comes after a contentious vote in the Senate amid tensions over Trump’s $1.776 billion anti-weaponization fund and White House Ballroom funding.

Some Republicans reportedly expressed concerns because the bill does not prevent Trump from restoring his anti-weaponization fund to compensate victims of Biden-era lawfare.

Other attempts were made to block the construction of Trump’s White House Ballroom entirely. Six Republicans, Susan Collins (ME), Jon Husted (OH), Jerry Moran (KS), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Dan Sullivan (AK), and Thom Tillis (NC), voted in favor of Democrat Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley’s failed amendment to require Congressional approval for the construction. The final bill passed with only RINO Lisa Murkowski voting no.

Several House Republicans almost torpedoed an earlier procedural vote, reportedly seeking to codify more of Trump’s border policies.

However, the rule advancing the bill to a final floor vote passed earlier by a vote of 213-211.

The House later voted 214-212 on the House Floor.

Every House Republican voted in favor, and every Democrat voted against.

Via Fox's Bill Melugin:

The bill now goes to Trump's desk for his signature.

Great because it’s good until the end of his term.

Thom Tillis is a 2 faced jerk who begged Trump 6 years ago for his endorsement. I can’t wait for him to be out of the Senate.

However, Whatley needs to start campaigning in earnest or he will lose to the corrupt Cooper rat.

What were the shutdowns for? Did the dems and RINOs get tired of fighting?

You may be missing my point. I see you have not been on Free Republic very long, so you may not remember how it used to be.

Tillis was a goner in 2020, until his Democrat opponent (Cal Cunningham) got caught in some bizarre extramarital shenanigans at the last minute of the campaign. Tillis has been a big disappointment, but I will always be grateful he defeated the despicable Kay Hagan.

The Senate went through the lengthly reconciliation process so all it needed in the Senate was a majority instead of the 60 votes. I'm sure the Dems are p***** that Thune and the Repubs figured out how to play this with the cocky Dems.

I'm sure the Dems were running around gleefully like Rumpelstiltskin until the Republicans passed this.

Congratulations to Thune and Johnson.

I thought that GOP had the votes sooner but some GOP senators said no. Maybe it took a while to talk the RINOs into it. For all I know, they might have been forced to offer more pork.

They did NOT offer more pork. That's why they used reconciliation..

Reading about what was in the bill will clarify things...like ICE guys do NOT have to take off their masks....which is what the Dems wanted.

OK, but I still don’t know why they couldn’t have passed it sooner. Maybe the language about masks wasn’t ready until now?

This comes after a contentious vote in the Senate amid tensions over Trump’s $1.776 billion anti-weaponization fund and White House Ballroom funding. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

1) The persecution of hundreds of peaceful protesters after a false flag operation on Jan 6th, organized by Pelosi and her fascist colleagues? Yes, these victims of falso prosecution deserve reparations !

2) The nation deserves a ballroom rather than grassy knolls from foggy bottom.

Thune and his running dogs have to go.

2)

Unfortunately, Lindsey Graham won the GOP primary by a 2:1 margin, and South Carolina is solidly Republican, so we are stuck with a RINO who supports Thune for six more years.
