BUTCHER'S THUMB — May 31st, 2026
This week’s butcher’s thumb shows the networks leaning into foreign policy, Democratic leadership, and institutional Republican dissent — but the overall imbalance is less severe than in recent weeks. Still, several shows rely on Republicans who are strong critics of Trump, pairing them only with Democrats, which creates a one‑sided frame even when the guest count appears balanced. Sunday Morning Futures again stands out as the only program booking guests aligned with the GOP’s current leadership and priorities.
FACE THE NATION (CBS)
CBS is running a “foreign policy + Democratic leadership + institutional Republican dissent” hour. Zelenskyy anchors the international segment. Murphy provides a Democratic Senate voice. Pence and Cindy McCain represent the pre‑Trump GOP establishment, functioning as intra‑party critics rather than voices aligned with the party’s current direction. Using Pence — a strong critic of Trump — as the only Republican opposite a Democrat creates balance in appearance, not in substance. The overall framing leans heavily toward institutional and international perspectives.
What to watch:
Whether Brennan uses Pence and McCain to reinforce a narrative of GOP division while Murphy and Zelenskyy shape the policy framing.
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network)
Fox is running an “economic leadership + bipartisan Senate voices” hour. Hassett provides a strong economic-policy anchor. Hagerty represents a GOP leadership voice aligned with the party’s current direction. Coons adds a Democratic Senate perspective. The panel is ideologically mixed, with Williams providing the left-leaning counterweight and Allen, Bednar, and Chambers offering center-right analysis.
What to watch:
How Bream balances Coons’ Democratic messaging with Hagerty’s GOP leadership perspective.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC)
NBC is running a “Republican dissenter + Democratic leadership” hour. Pence appears again, functioning as an intra‑party critic rather than a representative GOP voice. Beshear adds a Democratic gubernatorial perspective. As with CBS, pairing Pence only with a Democrat creates a one‑sided frame: the Republican guest reinforces the host’s narrative rather than counterbalancing it. The panel leans center-left, with contributors who typically reinforce Democratic and institutional narratives.
What to watch:
Whether Welker uses Pence to create the appearance of balance while the overall framing remains aligned with Democratic and institutional messaging.
THIS WEEK (ABC)
ABC is running an “economic policy + Democratic leadership + institutional Republican counterweight” hour. Hassett anchors the economic segment. Booker provides a Democratic Senate voice. The panel includes Christie as a pre‑Trump GOP figure who often functions as an intra‑party critic, alongside Brazile, Shakir, and McHenry. The overall framing leans center-left, with Christie serving as the nominal Republican counterbalance.
What to watch:
Whether ABC uses Christie to reinforce a narrative of GOP internal conflict while Booker shapes the policy framing.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN)
CNN is running a “Democratic leadership + institutional Republican presence” hour. Andy Kim provides a Democratic House voice. Burgum offers an institutional Republican perspective, but not one aligned with the party’s current leadership. The panel includes Bedingfield and Ansari reinforcing Democratic messaging, with Todd and Urban providing center-right analysis. The overall framing leans center-left.
What to watch:
How Tapper/Bash uses Kim and Burgum to shape the hour’s policy narrative while the panel reinforces the network’s preferred framing.
SUNDAY MORNING FUTURES (FNC)
Futures is running an “economic leadership + Republican leadership + state-level GOP momentum” hour. Bessent anchors the economic segment. Paxton and Collins provide two strong GOP leadership voices aligned with the party’s current direction. This remains the only program consistently booking guests who represent the GOP’s present priorities and national momentum.
What to watch:
Whether Bartiromo centers the hour on economic indicators or uses Paxton and Collins to highlight state-level GOP initiatives.
Ecosystem Summary
This week’s lineups emphasize foreign policy, Democratic leadership, and institutional Republican dissent across most networks. While the imbalance is less severe than in recent weeks, CBS and NBC both rely on Pence — a strong critic of Trump — as their sole Republican voice opposite Democrats, creating a one‑sided frame despite the appearance of balance. Fox blends economic leadership with bipartisan voices, ABC pairs economic policy with a pre‑Trump GOP counterweight, CNN features Democratic leadership with an institutional Republican presence, and Bartiromo delivers the only hour aligned with the GOP’s current leadership and priorities.

“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!
James 1:19 (King James Version)
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
Will this Iranian blockade wake up America and the world to the necessity of oil and gas to the economy and personal freedom? As people spend an addition twenty to thirty per fill-up will there be a connection between the foolishness of so-called renewable resources like sun and wind? There never has been a more stupid movement than the phony Climate Change scam.
This entire shortage is the fault of the Dumocrats and their war on oil which was an opportunistic cultish movement to make America more dependent on outside sources rather than our own vast resources. Like all Dem policies it was about punishing America and helping its enemies.
In this case Algore and Ken Lay invented a crisis which never existed but with clever marketing using his brainwashing movie the convinced the world of Global Warming. It is nothing more than a cult religion worshiping the earth. This is a Satanic cult of secular humanism being pushed by the entire Three Pillars (Academia, Media, and Dims} to make people believe they can save the world by not producing Carbon which the entire world is built on.
They cannot point to any accomplishment they have done for the American people so they have to invent fake crisis’ to give people a reason to vote for them. They have convinced people oil is a carbon producing fuel so it is bad for the environment and destroying the eart. This has turned a perfectly harmless gas, CO2 into a deadly poison causing people and especially women to fear it just like they feared Coup-19 and going outside without a mask. Now it admittedly was a benefit to certain women like Woopie Goldberg, but not for stopping Covid.
This godless cult stopped the development and advancement of oil production and refining to the point of dropping dramatically when Slow Joe came into office. He stopped the XL pipeline from Canada, closed the Gulf of America, Alaska, and offshore drilling in one fell swoop and now America and the world is paying for it.
Europe fell for the Algore scam worse than America did and completely stopped drilling for their own oil. With vast reserves in the North Sea and the Arctic they could be mostly self-sufficient and would rather buy it from Russia. This clears their conscious of having to drill and process their own oil while enduring leftwing nutcases protesting and complaining about something they know nothing about.
If they had drilled their own oil as well as setup refineries there would be no reason to buy oil from Iran or any other terrorist country in the Middle East. There would be no need to support Russia with Euros to continue his war on Ukraine who also have large oilfields. This is a self-induced crisis in Europe where all the Leftwing Extremists run the show and have now put the gun to their head and pulling the trigger.
Trump of course is taking the blame but the blame squarely sits on the DNC’s shoulders. Their brainwashing of the country into believing something which does not exist has led to the complete underproduction of oil in America. This is the same Party who will not allow refineries as you see in Mexifornia or anywhere else in America save Texas. Commiefornia is the heart of the war on oil as they have cut off their own oil being pumped out of Bakersfield and drove out the refineries with Climate Change regulations.
Enjoy the $7/gal and soon to be $10 by destroying your own production in the name of Earth Worship. You have fallen for a complete fake crisis and you refuse to even question it over your complete adherence to the Church of Gore. It is time to stop blaming Trump over sky high gas prices and set it in the lap who can never find enough ways to make your lives unaffordable and miserable.
Pray for America to wake up
Note: The above opinion is not necessarily my own, but FReeper Bray’s. If you wish to discuss this, please ping Bray.
Hmmmmm….. Pence is in two of these shows.
What’s up with that?
As for the war it's always tough when you have to negotiate with terrorists. That's why we seldom do it. No matter what agreement is brought forward they will always ignore it and take the consequences.
That's what is desperately needed, severe consequences for when the mullahs, irgc do break any agreement that is finally brought forward.
Ultimately, for a lasting peace,it will likely take countries in the region getting together to get rid of the mullah rule. Trump has already set up the possible format for that to happen.
When the US does leave we need to make sure that the money does not go to the current regime. Possibly Reza Pahlavi, son of the former leader, could be a potential intermin head for the country. Hard to say.
We have a major say so in the conflict now. We fought hard took out their navy, air force, and much of their potential to wage war using artillery on land. We can't stay forever. So Pres.Trump will likely come up with something that works long term.
The final solution has to come from the people of Iran who have been savaged by the mullahs. Those who have been murdered in cold blood by the thousand. The kurds who live in Iran by the million, can help. Others outside the country can help but locals will have to be the ultimate solution.
The ultimate solution lies from within Iran
I’ve come up with a short article I’m writing on how to use an AI to get the best results. Here it is:
AI isn’t a mind — it’s a tool. What most people call “AI” today is actually a Large Language Model (LLM). It isn’t sentient, conscious, or capable of wanting anything. An LLM is a program trained on enormous amounts of text so it can predict what words should come next in a sentence. That’s why it can answer questions in a way that sounds human — it’s imitating patterns in language, not thinking or understanding.
The amount of human knowledge stored in text, audio, video, databases, and other formats is massive and growing rapidly. If some of that data is biased, then the LLM trained on it will reflect those biases. Data can be biased because it comes from humans, and humans bring their own assumptions, blind spots, and political leanings into everything they create. Political content especially tends to be uneven, because some viewpoints dominate certain media ecosystems while others are under‑represented or framed negatively — for example, conservative perspectives on platforms like Wikipedia or in many major American and European news organizations. When an LLM trains on that uneven landscape, it absorbs those imbalances just as faithfully as it absorbs grammar and vocabulary. That’s why it’s important to challenge questionable answers and push back when something seems off. You can steer the system, but only if you know how to ask.
The key to using AI successfully is understanding how to prompt it. A correct prompt matters because an AI doesn’t think its way to an answer — it follows the instructions you give it. When the instructions are clear, specific, and structured, the system has a well‑defined path to follow, and the output comes out clean and accurate. When the instructions are vague, the AI has to guess what you meant, and that guesswork produces mushy, unfocused results.
A good prompt forces you to define the task in a way a computer can execute. Humans fill in gaps automatically, but an AI can’t rely on shared assumptions, tone, or context unless you explicitly provide them. That’s why two people can ask what they believe is the “same” question and get completely different answers — one gave the system enough information to work with, and the other didn’t.
Clear prompting also reduces ambiguity. If you tell the AI exactly what format you want, how long the answer should be, what to include, and what to leave out, it can produce something that matches your expectations instead of something you have to fix afterward. In that sense, prompting is simply another form of giving precise instructions to a system, the same way you would when configuring a server, writing a script, or documenting a process.
Finally, a correct prompt turns the AI into a force multiplier. When you give it a well‑defined mission, it can execute that mission quickly and consistently. When the mission is unclear, the AI can’t compensate for the missing information, and the output reflects that. The quality of the prompt directly determines the quality of the result — not because the AI is smart, but because it is obedient.
Oh, the drivebys know what they’re doing...
Using Pence — a strong critic of Trump — as the only Republican opposite a Democrat creates balance in appearance, not in substance.
The legacies look like they have the usual dump on Trump line up,but you can bet they are hoping for no repeat of last weekend. They made it to Tuesday, thanks to the holiday, and thought wheeeew! nobody noticed, then Jills little interview blew up like Joy Behar at a buffet bar. They have spent the rest of the week doing damage control but the legacies hiring practices bit them on the arse a second time. It’s pretty bad when your own panels of talking heads and teleprompter readers attempts to deflect just make things worse.......I enjoyed it thoroughly 😁.
Must see BULLSHIT on display...A dictator, a Senator who doesn't live in his state he represents, a Jackass and a widow of someone who is not part of the new America First GOP!
I'll skip it...
Thirty Pence has no say in the Repub Party other than the loser wing. He will have that above-it-all voice.
You caught the essence of rapid link extraction. Also, I couldn't agree with you more since AI has to be managed to a TEE. I'm never going to be as good at it as you are you are a pro.
But, I'm learning as I go. When I notice bias I realize that I phrased the question wrong and need to redo it.
Thanks for doing this it's excellent work.
I really liked these two graphs.

looking at the "propaganda" being on offer this morning and the two voices of reason - I suspect that there is going to be "news" coming that the Deep-State machine is trying to get in front of
On the subject of AI - As you say, it is a COMPUTER PROGRAM. Let us not forget the 80/20 rule. Of the 20% who have some ability to communicate properly with a COMPUTER SYSTEM today, like yourself (Oracle Admin??) only a small subset of these 20% can structure QUERIES.
Because I see no indication that they are even trying to change what led to the results of the 2024 election. "Dad died from smoking and Bourbon, so I am switching to menthol and Scotch. That'll fix it!"

Federal Agents Arrest Karen Bass-Linked “Peace Ambassador” — Convicted Murderer and Active 18th Street Gang Member Was Being Paid with Taxpayer Dollars Through NGO Program

just another regime member form big bass
From the link below:
Federal law enforcement just exposed another jaw-dropping failure of Los Angeles’ radical “reimagine public safety” experiment under Mayor Karen Bass.
Michael Angel Alvarez, 41, aka “Diablo,” a convicted first-degree murderer and alleged active 18th Street gang member, was arrested by federal agents after being paid over $58,000 last year by a city-contracted nonprofit to serve as a so-called “Peace Ambassador.”
The arrest went down on May 18 near MacArthur Park. LAPD officers responding to a stolen vehicle call detained Alvarez. He reportedly told them he worked for Mayor Karen Bass’s Crisis Response Team (“CRT”).
BTW, if anyone asks… For what it’s worth, I’ve tried several AIs over the past year.
I liked Grok at first — it was fast, sharp, and fun — but over time it became harder to use because it kept interrupting good conversations or research threads to push me toward buying a “Super Grok” subscription. It then tells me to wait two hours to continue for the free version!
I’m not going to throw money at that. Elon has enough already. I still like Grok, but it is seriously annoying when it just quits like that.
Copilot, on the other hand, is always available, doesn’t cut me off mid‑thought, and lets me explore ideas as long as I need to.
I haven’t used Google’s Gemini or ChatGPT much, because Copilot has been reliable, consistent, and more than capable for everything I do. I’ll try the others on some questions going forward and let you all know what I find.
Bottom line: I would encourage all Freepers to use an LLM and hone your skills in crafting good prompts.
FTN’s lineup is an embarrassment. Like a scene right out of “The Hunger Games”. Or “ Brave New World”. Made for TV propaganda.

Add Quebec to your list.
Alberta extracts and sells oil and gas to earn cash.
Alberta is forced to send cash to Quebec as an equalization payment, cause Quebec is so poor.
Quebec imports oil and fuel from overseas sources, which is why it’s so poor.
One of the irritants that contributes to Alberta’s desire to leave Canada.
Same with the euroweenies. Refuse to drill, claim there’s a problem, suffer economic consequences

Quebec has significant shale gas potential, with estimates of approximately 22 trillion cubic feet of remaining marketable natural gas resources. However, the provincial government has imposed a ban on new oil and gas exploration and development, preventing these reserves from being developed.

Overview of Quebec’s Shale Oil Reserves
Quebec is estimated to have significant shale gas potential, with approximately 22 trillion cubic feet of remaining marketable natural gas resources. However, it is important to note that there are currently no commercial production activities for shale oil or gas in the province.
Current Status of Shale Oil Development
Regulatory Environment
In 2022, Quebec’s government enacted a law banning new oil and gas exploration and development.
This ban reflects a political stance prioritizing environmental concerns over resource extraction.
Exploration History
Prior to the ban, there were exploratory activities in regions like the Utica Shale, which is known for its potential gas reserves.
Despite the presence of shale formations, the lack of commercial production indicates that these resources remain untapped.
Conclusion
While Quebec holds substantial shale gas resources, the legislative framework currently prevents any development of these reserves, including shale oil. The focus on environmental protection has led to a halt in exploration and production activities in the province.
