Kwame’s GOING DOWN! There’s NO WAY this guy survives the death by a thousand cuts that are going on right now. You can’t write a movie with all the twists and turns that are going on. Murder, Sex, Corruption, Cover-up, Strippers, it’s unbelievable. Maybe finally this is what’s needed to wake up the people of Detroit.

With a anme like "Kwame," and he's mayor of Dee-troit, it's either Dimocrat or Marxist - or both.

So this may be a typical cover up by the leadership of a major US city; in this case the City of of Detroit. Only the mayor was listed but not the two other men that restrained the mayors wife nor how many persons of interest where in at the party to include the protective detail of the mayor. to say more would be mass speculation of who was at said party. However, with the time age of incident and the complaint but the clerk make me believe that is will continue to be stonewalled by Detroit until the state and federal investigation begins. This may be tried under loss of civil rights charges.

This is just the very latest in an intricate scandal involving the mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick. It came out on the 6:00 news tonight. The mayor has always denied this party took place, and now a retired clerk from the Detroit PD has sworn this affidavit stating the party did in fact take place at the mayor's mansion. The subject dancer was killed in a drive by shooting 6 months after the party and the police dept. covered it up. The dancer was shot 18 times with a 40 mm Glock, which is DPD issued, and not usually used by street gangs. It came out in the text messages that revealed an affair the mayor had with his chief of staff. Two police officers were fired for trying to investigate this, but they sued the city and won $9 million dollars. The trial was last fall.

Over the weekend, the Detroit Free Press published text messages between Kwame, his chief of staff and their mutual friend who owns a contracting firm, that implicates all three of them in a scam to award contracts to the friend. Many of these projects were federally funded, so the feds are investigating, too.

WOW, thanks for the update. Being originally from the east coast, and knowing about past scandals there, this soap opera is quite the mess. I see another pol will be going down when his cronies don’t want to see the inside of the feds “club med” prison.

It’s going to take Kwame being lead out of city hall in handcuffs before he ever gives up. And I think his cronies are more afraid of seeing the inside of a coffin than the inside of “Club Fed” — they’re not going to talk. His personal possey of goons aka the EPU, Executive Protection Unit, are still strong-arming and groin-kneeing reporters who get too close to Kwame as he embarks and disembarks from his chauffer-driven Escalade. They do a good job of keeping underings in line. Visions of “Strawberry” dance in their heads. Not to mention the cadre of goons who made personal threating phone calls to members of city council last week to successfully keep them from voting in the affirmative to impeach.

LLM's Truth Truck arrived in town on Friday and met with immediate opposition from the Detroit Police Department. On Friday evening, Dennis Green was issued a ticket for having no vehicle registration even as the ticketing officer held the reistration in his hand. Detroit's financial mess has put the Detroit Zoo on the endangered list. A newspaper's review of ballots cast in the November election shows many were cast under the names of people who have died, were serving time in prison or did not live in the city. Detroit election records say Fred Douglas Henley voted at a polling precinct Nov. 8. Henley, however, died the day before the election, and his voting address long has been vacant and boarded up, The Detroit News reported Sunday. Blanche Credit died in 2003. But she's recorded as voting in November, too. It is unknown whether Henley and Credit were names someone used to cast fraudulent...

Cook County lost more people between 2000 and 2005 than any county in the nation, according to Census Bureau estimates released Thursday that also show continued gains in suburban and exurban counties across the region and portions of the nation. The new figures--based on administrative records and estimates for births, deaths and net migration--show the county lost more than 73,000 people, or 1.4 percent, since the last official count in April 2000. The largest-loser designation can partly be attributed to Cook County's massive size, because raw numbers were used for the rankings. Still, among the nation's 10 largest counties, Cook,...

While perusing finance reports filed by Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's 2005 re-election committee, we noticed a repeated oddity. At least 10 people who contributed the individual maximum of $3,400 did so in a way that had us scratching our scalps in wonder. Each of the benefactors wrote out four separate checks -- three for a $1,000 and one for $400 -- to reach their limit. Why, we mused, wouldn't they just write out one $3,400 check?

The 25 police academy students were ordered back to class after one of the students failed a pop quiz by Chief Bully-Cummings. Spending at least $1.6 million in taxpayer funds on professional artwork instead of building or repairing city schools is raising questions about the school district's spending decisions. Spending bond money on art is not illegal but unusual. School officials in Chicago, Philadelphia and other large cities say they don't spend large sums on art for their schools... Most of the Detroit art was purchased under former schools chief Kenneth Burnley, but the payments continued after William Coleman was named superintendent in July 2005. It's unclear how many art pieces were bought. The money was a sliver of the $1.5 billion...

Who is Arnold Schwarzenegger, really? According to Joe Knollenberg, a Republican congressman from Michigan, he's "kind of a Republican Al Gore." That's what Knollenberg told Fox News' Neil Cavuto on Tuesday night. What's Knollenberg's beef? The congressman represents a district north of Detroit. Among his constituents are the Big 3 automakers. The mortgage crisis in America has deepened so much that family homes can now be bought for less than £15,200 - the price of a new car. A four-bedroom home near the original Motown recording studio in Detroit recently sold for £3,700 ($7,000), less than most used cars. A boarded-up bungalow fetched £685, and a three-bedroom house listed for £276,000 attracted just £69,000. Detroit, which made its fortune on the back of the car industry, now holds a more dubious distinction: the capital of home repossessions. The decline of its main industry has seen Detroit suffer more than other areas...

The NAACP held a symbolic funeral in Detroit 63 years ago for Jim Crow. The civil rights organization will do the same this summer for the "N" word, the Rev. Wendell Anthony said Sunday. The Detroit City Council called for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, unanimously passing a resolution sponsored by a Democratic congressman's wife. The nonbinding resolution, approved Wednesday, says Bush and Cheney conspired to defraud the United States by "intentionally misleading Congress and the public regarding the threat from Iraq in order to justify the war." It was sponsored by Councilwoman Monica Conyers. Her husband, U.S. Rep. John Conyers (news, bio, voting record), is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, where any impeachment proceedings would start. He has said...

Her legs crippled by diabetes, Mary Lewis is grateful it's a short distance between her doctor's office at Riverview Hospital and the adjacent apartment tower where she lives. It will become a painful struggle next year when the hospital closes and physicians' offices are forced to move. The hospital last week said it was losing too much money and already stopped accepting inpatients, though the emergency room will remain open for now. Because roughly 90 percent of its 11,000 annual inpatients are covered under the Medicare or Medicaid public assistance programs, Riverview has struggled economically, said Bob Hoban,...

For a quarter-century, American automakers and their allies argued that any legislation to increase fuel economy standards would rob them of profits, force them to lay off workers and deprive consumers of the vehicles they wanted to buy. Even as recently as last weekend, a lobbying group financed by auto companies was still running radio ads in 11 states, raising the prospect that soccer moms might lose the opportunity to buy big sport utility vehicles if they did not urge Congress to reject legislation calling for higher mileage. "Why can't they let me make the choice?"...

Michigan residents leaving cities for suburbs Updated: June 28, 2007 12:28 PM GRAND RAPIDS -- A new U.S. Census Bureau report shows more and more Michigan residents are fleeing big cities and heading straight for the suburbs. The report shows two-thirds of those cities have lost population over the past six years, including Flint (9.8 percent), Detroit (8.4 percent), Lansing (4 percent), and Grand Rapids (2.3 percent). The drop in Detroit is the second highest in the nation, next to New Orleans which is trying to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. An office worker for the US city of Detroit is suing for her colleagues to be banned from wearing perfume which gives her such severe headaches, nausea and coughing fits that she must leave work. Court documents showed Thursday that Susan McBride suffered so acutely from allergy to the chemicals in scents, lotions and sprays that she had to go home sick when a heavily perfumed co-worker shared her office at the city's historic districts department. Her sensitivity is such that she avoids the detergent sections in shops and cannot sit near perfumed people in a movie...

The 12th Street Riot in Detroit began in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 23, 1967. Vice squad officers executed a raid at a blind pig on the corner of 12th Street and Clairmount on the city's near westside. The confrontation with the patrons there evolved into one of the deadliest and most destructive riots in modern U.S. history, lasting five days and far surpassing the 1943 riot the city endured. Before the end, the state and federal governments, under order of then President Lyndon B. Johnson, sent in National Guard and U.S. Army troops and...

Forty years ago today, several days of race riots began in Detroit. On July 23, 1967, Black Panthers and assorted other Black extremists (with White hippies and far-leftists backing and encouraging them) eventually wrote their political epitaphs with it (though their movement unfortunately died a long, slow death--far past its time, if there ever was a time). But they robbed and killed Detroit--and a significant portion of Black America with it. Black Panthers and their radical allies, supported by a thousands of Black Detroiters, rioted for days, starting fires and destroying the city. They wanted more power in the city....

The U.S. Census Bureau says that Detroit continues to be among the nation's poorest large cities. The bureau says an estimated 32.5 percent of Detroit residents lived in poverty in 2006. Detroit had about 871,000 people last year. The poverty rate for Buffalo, N.Y., was estimated at 29.9 percent. The figures were close and based on sampling, so it's unclear which city had a higher poverty rate. The Census Bureau's report on poverty in cities with at least 250,000 residents listed the rate for Cincinnati at 27.8 percent and Cleveland at 27.0 percent.

Embattled Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick said Thursday he won't resign because of a text-messaging scandal that has engulfed his administration, but acknowledged the uproar has reduced him to tears. Kilpatrick, during an appearance on a morning radio show, was asked whether he would step down. "Absolutely not," Kilpatrick said on "The Paul W. Smith Show" on WJR-AM. "I don't understand when people say `resign.'" The mayor's comments came a day after the state's highest court rejected an attempt by Kilpatrick to prevent documents from being made public that detail a city settlement that helped conceal an apparent affair with...

Gov. Jennifer Granholm can remove local elected officials from office, but Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick may not face that rarely used power in a text-messaging sex scandal. In fact, the last time a Michigan governor acted to remove a local official was in 1982 when William Milliken found West Bloomfield Township treasurer Andrew Lobodocky guilty of official misconduct. The removal process was detailed Friday by Granholm's office after Detroit City Councilman Kwame Kenyatta said in a statement...

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick lashed out at his opponents and the news media Tuesday night, accusing them of showing a "lynch mob mentality" amid a scandal over his exchange of sexually explicit text messages with a former top aide. The criticism came as he finished reading the written text released before his State of the City address, which only briefly alluded to the text-message controversy. The case has led to a criminal probe of whether Kilpatrick lied under oath when he denied an affair with former Chief of Staff Christine Beatty that was revealed in the text messages. Kilpatrick,...

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has lashed out at his opponents and the news media in the aftermath of the scandal over his exchange of sexy test messages with a former top aide. It happened Tuesday night at the end of his State of the City address, which till then had only a brief allusion to the text-message controversy. The case has led to a criminal probe of whether Kilpatrick lied under oath when he denied the affair. After an hour-long prepared address focusing on development plans and economic initiatives, Kilpatrick said he and his family have received...

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick stood before hundreds of people last summer and triumphantly proclaimed: "Die N-word, and we don't want to see you 'round here no more." But the epithet that he and other black leaders symbolically buried in downtown Detroit during a national NAACP convention was resurrected by the embattled mayor Tuesday night during his annual State of the City address, carried live on local television and radio stations. Facing possible perjury charges from testimony...

Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox says Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is a liar and a race-baiter who's unfit for office and should resign for the community's good. Cox tells WJR-AM's Lloyd Jackson he was shocked by the black leader's televised use of the N-word and his appeal for support while attacking opponents as racist. Kilpatrick's statements came at the end of Tuesday's State of the City address. Cox, who is white, calls it "race baiting" on par with segregationists David Duke...

You might think the resignation of New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer would put more pressure on Detroit's embattled mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, to do the same. But Kilpatrick, seven weeks into his own text sex scandal, shows no signs of giving up the fight. In fact, with a prosecutor contemplating perjury charges and his city council in revolt, Kilpatrick has chosen the nuclear option in this deeply divided city. At the end of an otherwise routine state-of-the-city speech Tuesday night, Kilpatrick went off on a racially explosive tirade against his critics and the media.

Stunning closing to speech also may haunt Kilpatrick -- The swift resignation of New York's governor, Eliot Spitzer, just days after he was linked to a high-priced prostitution ring, has put new pressure on the embattled mayor of this city, Kwame Kilpatrick, with critics calling for him to step down quickly. "Lying under oath, I think most people would think that's more serious a crime than hiring a prostitute," the Michigan attorney general, Mike Cox, said last week. "Eliot Spitzer, whether you like him or not, did put the state of New York above his own interests. But the...

Detroit council asks mayor to resign (passes resolution 7-1, amounts to a "no confidence" vote)

The Detroit City Council on Tuesday called for the resignation of Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who is being investigated over an alleged affair he swore under oath he did not have. He quickly rejected the request. The resolution, passed 7-1, amounted to a "no-confidence" vote because the council lacks the power to force Kilpatrick to step down. Mayoral spokeswoman Denise Tolliver said Kilpatrick has no intention of quitting. "City Council, according to the charter, is free to pass nonbinding resolutions. However while certain members have been playing judge and jury in the court of public opinion, Mayor Kilpatrick has...

Stalemate in Detroit: City Council Asks Mayor to Resign, but He Refuses to Go

New York Times | March 19, 2008 | NICK BUNKLEY
The City Council on Tuesday asked Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick to resign in light of evidence that he had lied under oath and plotted to cover up an extramarital affair with his former chief of staff. The 7-to-1 Council vote is not binding, and Mr. Kilpatrick has vowed to remain in office. Nonetheless, the Council's action is a political blow for the mayor, and support for the measure was greater than expected. Council members spoke highly of Mr. Kilpatrick but said he could no longer govern effectively, given the scandal that has enveloped Detroit for nearly two months.

Prosecutor Kym Worthy promised Wednesday not to further delay announcing whether she will bring perjury or other charges against Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his former top aide. Her decision had been expected by the middle of this month, but Worthy pushed the announcement back. "It will be next week, for sure," the Wayne County prosecutor said. Worthy has been looking into claims that Kilpatrick and one-time Chief of Staff Christine Beatty lied under oath during a whistle-blowers' trial last summer when they denied having a romantic relationship in 2002 and 2003. The Detroit Free Press in January reported...

Information uncovered by Chief Investigator Steve Wilson is raising new questions about who's paying Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's soaring legal and PR bills -- and recent trips on expensive private jets. Wilson: It was seven years ago that the city of Detroit wrote into its charter and city law an Ethics Code for city officials. Its purpose is to see that they avoid conduct that has even the *appearance* of being improper. Even so, as we first told you earlier, Mayor Kilpatrick and the First Family are getting big personal benefits and refusing to disclose who's really paying the bill...
