Mayor Announces Budget Plans For Upcoming Year

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick unveiled his new budget plan Wednesday to City Council members.

Insiders expected to see deep cuts in city government and reductions in city services, but Kilpatrick stated during his speech that those deep cuts were already made and the focus of the 2006-2007 city budget will be on the process and structural side.

The way things are in 100 years Detroit will be a federal park of sorts. Come and see the abandoned ruins of a 20th century industrial city.
