Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is endorsing Gov. Jennifer Granholm in her bid for re-election.

At a rally in downtown Detroit on Thursday, Kilpatrick said Granholm would work to unite Detroit and the state.

Kilpatrick and others at the rally said Republicans would divide Detroit from residents in the suburbs and other parts of the state.

I doubt the rest of Michigan is interested in 'uniting' with Detroit!

Is Kwame still driving that big Cadillac SUV that the voters of Detroit paid for? You know, the one where he paid double for a one-year lease on the vehicle?

It is a cruel irony that socialists like Granholm create ghettos like Detroit in the first place.

As long as the Tigers keep winning, the rest of Mitten-gan will claim Detroit as part of the State.

A little over 800,000 population. She and the Mayor have had 4 years to unite the state and the city and they haven't done it yet. What will be different in the next 4 years?

Kwame never drove it. The Lincoln Navigator in question was a 'gift' to his wife courtesy of Detroit. Local news got on the story and after a few months of smoke and mirrors, it was sold to a used car dealer out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Census: Blacks leave Detroit, population down 7 percent

DETROIT Following decades of white flight from Detroit, blacks are following suit. The U-S Census said today that the city's white population dropped 14 percent and the black population seven percent between 2000 and 2005.

Michigan's population rose two percent to nine-point-nine (M) million.

Detroit's overall population fell seven percent to 836-thousand in the new estimates.

The city's population has dropped 55 percent since peaking at one-point-eight (M) million in the 1950 Census.

They're not as powerful as they used to be.

They're pretty powerfull when they're counting ballots....and recounting ballots.....and rejecting ballots...and divining voter intent. A detroit vote makes Florida 2000 look like childs play but have no fear, John Conyers will be there to keep them honest.

That's an old picture. The brick was stolen from the abandoned buildings last year.

"Craziest thing I've ever seen," said one poll watcher. "They had 100 tables and just five poll watchers trying to monitor them. Every table had a pile of empty ballots. If the machine rejected a ballot, the workers would just take a fresh ballot, fill it in the way they thought the voter wanted (Detroit voted heavily for Kerry), and then put THAT ballot through the machine." The poll watcher also reported unsigned ballots being counted in the machines, a violation of absentee procedures.

What IS scary about Kilpatrick's administration is the open voter fraud that goes on.

Not that the MSM or federal government would ever notice.

How about the fact that 650,000 people voted in Detroit in '04 but only 618,000 over the age of 18 live there?

Anybody looking into this?
