Chauvin’s attorney gets prosecution witnesses to admit it is not always possible to know if someone is unconscious during a “blood choke” and will fight again once revived. Also, another prosecution witness admits officers checked Floyd’s pulse several times. You will not read or hear this in the mainstream media - even the putative conservative media. They all seem determined to condemn Derek Chauvin. But defense attorney Eric Nelson had an opportunity to question the prosecution’s witnesses. He discredited them. First, he questioned Donald Williams II, the professional mixed martial artist (MMA), who was at the scene when Derek Chauvin...

President Biden’s infrastructure bill is a shopping cart full of left-wing causes, most of which have nothing to do with infrastructure. There is nothing in principle particularly wrong with omnibus bills covering a number of different policy objectives, but such misnomers as this proposal and the preceding Covid relief bill, 90 percent of which had nothing to do with the coronavirus, are irritating and insulting to the intelligence of the public.

Jane Mayer of The New Yorker strengthens the argument for why H.R. 1 is an awful piece of legislation. In attempting to own conservatives by leaking partial audio of a presentation to Republicans by the director of research at a conservative nonprofit, staff writer Jane Mayer at The New Yorker further illuminates why H.R. 1 is a garbage proposal. Mayer misunderstands the Republican base’s argument completely and produces a straw man.The March 29 report is based on audio from a Jan. 8 phone call in which Kyle McKenzie of Stand Together discusses the “For The People Act,” known as H.R. 1....

A mass shooting and gun battle Wednesday night in Southern California left at least four people dead and two others injured. According to TV station KNBC, citing the Metro City Fire Authority Dispatch, four people died at the scene, a business park in Orange, and two others were transported to nearby hospitals. Lt. Jennifer Amat, a spokeswoman for the Orange Police Department, said one of the deaths was a child. The Los Angeles Times reported that “officers were fired on as they arrived, and they returned fire.” The gunman was wounded and hospitalized in the gunfight with the police, though...

As The Gateway Pundit reported on Tuesday — The New York Times published a hit piece on popular Trump-supporter Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) saying the Florida Congressman was under investigation for dating a 17-year-old girl. The Gateway Pundit later spoke with a source close to Matt Gaetz who told us this report is completely false. Gaetz is not the target of the investigation. We were also told none of the women he was seeing were underage. It’s not a surprise the left is after Gaetz since he is such an effective communicator and staunch Trump supporter. Rep. Gaetz told Axios...

Space is more than “the final frontier,” it represents America’s future -- and Americans are ready to embrace that future. Space is a chance to bring together the public and private sectors toward a noble end and it is fast becoming the psychological bridge between Americans uncertain of the present and future. With space policy direction for the new administration still largely undefined -- space was not a significant issue for the Biden campaign -- we must swiftly recommit to lifting humans -- and our national pride -- back toward the moon, and onto to Mars. If cynics doubt the...

During an interview with ESPN aired on Wednesday’s “SportsCenter,” President Joe Biden criticized the Texas Rangers for planning to open their stadium at full capacity for Opening Day with a mask requirement, saying that the decision is mistaken and the Rangers “should listen to Dr. Fauci and the scientists and the experts.”

Nissan sold cars and trucks for decades before entering the U.S. market. In some nations they were marketed as Nissans; here they were badged as Datsuns, a brand the parent company has owned since the ‘30s. When 1970s gas crises sent U.S. sales soaring, Nissan grew uncomfortable with the Datsun label and decided to make a brand transition. In 1981, small “by Nissan” nameplates appeared on Datsun vehicles. Dealerships were sent NISSAN signs to hang under their DATSUN signs. Soon, the NISSAN signs were moved to the upper position. Then the DATSUN signs came down. In four years, rebranding was...

First Lady Jill Biden was mocked and criticized on Wednesday afternoon after a botched attempt to speak Spanish. Video of her failed attempt to speak a foreign language then drew attention to a controversial-looking flag that was behind her. Jill Biden made the remarks during an event speaking to farmworkers on the birthday of Cesar Chavez, a left-wing labor leader and activist who had a history of making bigoted remarks toward immigrants. “It’s ‘Si se puede’ (Yes you/we can) not ‘Si se pwadueh,'” RGA Deputy Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez, who is fluent in Spanish, tweeted. “I can’t even imagine what...

The other day, Liz Peek, writing at Fox News online, said this about the 46th president: Joe Biden woke up on third base and thinks he hit a triple. Someone has told the president that he was elected by the American people to fundamentally change our country. He thinks he has a mandate, and that all that stands between him and success is a few ornery Republicans in the Senate who refuse to get out of the way. Correction. Biden believes that the only thing standing between him and greatness are cranky senators who do not see the United States...

Growing up, I rarely -- if ever -- heard anyone in authority discuss the relationship between Judeo-Christian concepts of morality and health. Instead, morals were cast as somewhat arbitrary rules that had to be followed to avoid being cast into Hell. I can't speak to what may happen in the afterlife. But in my almost six decades on the planet, I have observed that there is a powerful correlation between the foundational principles of morality in Judeo-Christianity and health in this life: physical and spiritual health, emotional and psychological health, and societal health. The Ten Commandments are an excellent starting...

CHICAGO (Reuters) - A critical component of the immune system known as T cells that respond to fight infection from the original version of the novel coronavirus appear to also protect against three of the most concerning new virus variants, according to a U.S. laboratory study released on Tuesday. Several recent studies have shown that certain variants of the novel coronavirus can undermine immune protection from antibodies and vaccines. But antibodies - which block the coronavirus from attaching to human cells - may not tell the whole story, according to the study by researchers at the National Institute of Allergy...

Not all of these ideas are without value. But none holds any serious prospect of averting future horrors. The proposals stem from the idea that the perpetrators of this kind of slaughter are weakly motivated and easily foiled. They rest on mistaken beliefs about the guns that are often used. The term “assault weapon” is a triumph of marketing over function. These guns have no capabilities that ordinary ones lack. They are no more lethal than any number of semiautomatic firearms, and they don’t fire more rapidly. They can accommodate magazines holding 30 or more cartridges, but so can traditional...

Washington -- Have you seen John Forbes Kerry's face lately? Who stole his lines? No, I am not talking about his lines, as in his joke lines. President Joe Biden's special envoy for climate has, in fact, never told a joke in his life, notwithstanding the jocose nature of his official title, which, by the way, allows him Cabinet-level rank. Seriously, he never laughs. He is what psychiatrists call an agelast. He never laughs or jokes or even snickers. Truth be known he is the perfect prig, and someone stole his lines. I am referring to the lines that used...

“It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.” ― George Orwell, 1984Remember last year when we had to cancel April Fools’ Day because…cooties? Well Google, who really runs the world in case you didn’t know, has decided that we once again are collectively incapable of coping with April Fools’ pranks and therefore canceled it this year too. But even the mighty Google can’t stop the even mightier government agencies from participating in a bit of April Tom-foolery. Take the updated guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on what fully vaccinated...

A couple of years ago, I gave a speech before a conservative, predominantly white audience. I couldn't help but notice a tall, heavyset Black man, arms folded, standing in the back. From time to time, I would look at him, only to see him frown and shake his head, I assumed disapprovingly, when I made what I considered important points. After the speech, he came up to me. "I am angry," he said. "Not at you -- at myself. I thought I was well informed. I read the news. I watch the news. I now see I've been manipulated by...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Psalm 21Psalm 21[a] For the director of music. A psalm of David. 1 The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you give! 2 You have granted him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips.[b] 3 You came to greet him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head. 4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him— length of days, for ever and ever. 5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is...
