As The Gateway Pundit reported on Tuesday — The New York Times published a hit piece on popular Trump-supporter Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) saying the Florida Congressman was under investigation for dating a 17-year-old girl.
The Gateway Pundit later spoke with a source close to Matt Gaetz who told us this report is completely false. Gaetz is not the target of the investigation. We were also told none of the women he was seeing were underage.
It’s not a surprise the left is after Gaetz since he is such an effective communicator and staunch Trump supporter.
Rep. Gaetz told Axios “the allegations were as searing as they are false.”
On Tuesday night Rep. Matt Gaetz joined Tucker Carlson to discuss the New York Times hit piece.
Matt Gaetz UNLOADED on a former Justice Department official who was threatening his family.
Rep. Matt Gaetz: What is happening is extortion of me and my family involving a former Department of Justice official. On March 16th, my father got a text message demanding a meeting wherein a person demanded $25 million in exchange for making horrible sex trafficking allegations of me go away. Our family was so troubled by that we went to the local FBI and the FBI and the Department of Justice were so concerned about this, that they asked my dad to wear a wire. Which he did with the former Department of Justice official. Tonight I am demanding that the Department of Justice and the FBI release the audio recordings that were made under their supervision and at their direction which will prove my innocence. .........

Have to see how it plays out, but my current position is that this guy is being completely railroaded. It’s like the Steele dossier with Trump. Is there anything there at all? Is it completely false? For the Left, that’s not important. They can make allegations, assume the guilt, and really push forward to achieve their goals.
I’m going to need rock solid proof before I begin to entertain the notion that Gaetz did anything wrong.
Their extortion racket, to me, is a far more interesting topic.
It would be great to have the audio tapes, but his father’s eyewitness testimony alone is admissible in a court of law as evidence. The fact that Gaetz is demanding the FBI release the corresponding audiotapes will only give his father’s testimony more credence.
But wait, did not that DOJ official just come out yesterday and deny he had anything to do with such?! /s /s
I think a majority of politicians have something over them. When Marco Rubio was elected years ago, there was so much hope and optimism, but he turned into something else once he got there.
DC corrupts and destroys even the most pure of heart. It takes a special type of person to stand up against tyranny.
Flynn redux. With a bullet.
I’ll believe Matt Gaetz over the lying New York Times any day.
This sounds ok something out of a cheap detective novel.
What’s the biden administration up to that this is playing out so bigly ?
This sounds like something out of a cheap detective novel.
Lots of Department of Justice intrigue in the story. What did William Barr know, and when did he know it?
A very poorly written one...................
Me too
’ll believe Matt Gaetz over the lying New York Times any day.
I agree
I agree with you.
Watching the MSM smearing this guy, and gloating over it is sickening.
If it turns out there is nothing to it, it will be dropped, and no apology issued.
................a NON CORRUPT USAG would aggressively look in to these allegations by a sitting US Congressmen and FIRE any DOJ employee involved regardless of politics. This won’t happen and this is WHY American INSTITUTIONS are broken and unfixable without THOUSANDS of Obama Era employees being fired and/or prosecuted.
My advice to Matt Gaetz is simple: do not sit on favorable material. It will not hatch into a swan or gain in potency.

The fact this was leaked show that some in the FBI are in on this scam.
It used to be if an "anonymous source" provided false or misleading information, they would be outed and shamed. Now they just get a special card in the NYT reporters' electronic Rolodex.
