Fellow Americans, there comes a time every mans life when we must give up ourselves before we are worthy to recieve. There comes a time in this war on terror when in order to protect liberty, we have to give it up in the mean time for safty. That's right folks. Today, Americans have forsaken the creator for the creation and have decided that they would value our "civil liberties" than protecting western civilization and rich white people from the tender mercies of radical Islamic terrorists. Selfish liberals insist and whine that Bush has no right to spy on Americans and ban certain undesirables from using our airlines. They demand the right to criticize and blaspheeme the name of our supreme commander and cheef George W Bush while forcing multiculturalism down our throats and praising Bill Clinton. We all know however that it's totally Clintons fult for everything bad in america. Now we are at war and we must make a decision. support the safty of America and defeat terrorists, or support civil liberties and give victory to the enemy. Its all because of Bill Clinton and civil liberties that we are in this war so it is only fair that we give it up. no one said life was supposed to be fair you liberal crybabys. Dont give me that rubbish about equality and diversity. WE ARE AT WAR! If your not for Bush and against civil liberties your a terrorist! Your probably even a Communist and should be detained. Therefore fellow Americans we must throw all of our trust and resources behind George W Bush and behind this war with no ifs ands or buts. Be sure to report any and all detractors and freedom supporters to your local military and never question. Bush knows what hes doing and we will win this war once and for all. I'm back in the saddle, again.

Back in the saddle again.

It's been two weeks ago Thursday night since my old 120G drive expired permanently. It gave in to "The Death Rattle" after it managed to keep spinning just long enough for me to rescue the 30MB of photos that had been uploaded since the previous back-up. I replaced it with the 160G drive I'd used for by back-up and...my computer wouldn't boot up.

My backup was pristine. What could possibly be wrong?

After a couple of false starts on my part, my IT guru finally hit it with an XP Pro upgrade trick. You load all 984 bazillion MB of the XP/SP2 source files onto the hard drive, in specific folders then, when you reboot, XP will give you the otion to 'SETUP'. So, you tell XP to 'SETUP' and it starts to 'SETUP'. On the way to dong a complete 'SETUP', though, it finds "Oh, wow, XP is already installed on this system" and most graciously inquires as to whether you might possibly like it to REPAIR the existing installation. You smile, press "R", and pray. If the progress timer counts down past "36 minutes" you're in like Flynn. Let it finish. Reboot. Welcome back to your system. No ugly wiping the hard drive and reinstalling abso-flippin-loutely everything. Just, pick right up where you left off when the hard drive gave out.

Thank God for hackers, 'cuz you know Bill Gates would never want this kind of stuff to become general knowledge. He wants you to buy it all over again, not just put particular files in particular places and run particular executables that you already have. Oh no, can't have THAT! THAT would actually be -- gag -- 'user friendly', eeewww!

Apple's about ready with their Tiger O/S (the new one that runs on PC's, too) and this recent misery has me just about ready to go with it. We'll see.

Thanks! Agnes was a fine old girl, lived with us almost 20 years. I told my kids we'll get another cat once we have all the little brothers out of diapers!

Of course, if we had mice and bats in the house, like Alice does, we'd probably get the cat sooner :-).
