Anthropic has suspended its powerful new AI model after US authorities raised security concerns just days following its public release. In a statement published on its website, Anthropic said it was ordered to suspend foreign nationals from using Claude Fable 5, a program that the company self-described as "too powerful". "The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance," the company wrote. Anthropic and the Trump administration are involved in a separate ongoing lawsuit over an order to stop government agencies using the company's AI...

@DNIGabbard Today, I’m releasing never before seen intelligence revealing new evidence of past US government funding for more than 120 biolabs in over 30 countries, including Ukraine. In support of President Trump‘s Executive Order to end federal funding of dangerous gain of function research around the world, and increase transparency and accountability, ODNI will continue working with partners across the Administration to identify where these labs are, what pathogens they contain, and what “research” is being conducted.

New documents released Thursday by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) reveal that Dr. Anthony Fauci used deep connections to the intelligence community to influence key national security agencies in the debate over the origins of COVID-19. Paul, chairman of the Senate homeland security committee, published nearly 90 pages of emails and other documents on Thursday detailing how Fauci steered the National Security Council and other bodies in the intelligence apparatus to downplay the theory that the virus came from a biomedical research lab incident in China. The multidecade document dump demonstrates the degree to which the national security community depended upon...

Voters in perhaps the most consequential special election ever held in Britain are angry, and they really want someone to feel their pain. That’s the clear verdict from a special focus group by Public First for POLITICO of voters in Makerfield, the former mining area in northwest England whose June 18 vote could determine the next prime minister. Some in the group said Andy Burnham, the Labour candidate who is hot favorite to succeed party leader Keir Starmer as PM if he can get himself back into Parliament, might make a difference. But the overwhelming mood during the 90-minute conversation...

@RepThomasMassie 19 Republicans withheld our votes in order to preserve Constitutionally guaranteed rights. By refusing to honor the Fourth Amendment, you’re jeopardizing the continuation of FISA. Include a WARRANT requirement for US citizens if you want Republicans to pass this bill.

Senator John Cornyn was not consoled when President Trump professed on social media that the senior Republican from Texas would “remain my friend for a long time to come” after the president had enthusiastically endorsed the man who defeated Mr. Cornyn, ending his Senate career. “If that’s the way friends treat you, you wonder about his enemies,” Mr. Cornyn said this week in his first extensive interview since his loss two weeks ago to Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas, an opponent Mr. Cornyn labeled corrupt and unfit for the Senate. Mr. Cornyn said he had come to terms with...

@SenLummis Big Banks debanked President Trump—and many others in America—because they didn't agree with their politics. We can never go back to Biden's Operation Chokepoint 2.0 policies. This should be investigated.

SpaceX has said shares should sell to the public for at least $135 (£100) when it becomes a publicly traded company on Friday, in what is expected to be the highest-value stock listing in history. The estimated price is the same as the space exploration and artificial intelligence (AI) company set a week ago, lifting the firm's valuation to nearly $1.8tn. SpaceX is aiming to raise $75bn through its initial public offering (IPO). Should shares sell at the suggested price, or more, depending on market supply and demand, SpaceX founder and chief executive Elon Musk - already the richest man...

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has "certainly gotten some things wrong", US Vice-President JD Vance has said, as ties between the two partners in the war against Iran appear to have become strained in recent weeks. While Vance would not provide examples, he told CBS News, the BBC's US partner, that Netanyahu "aggressively asserts the interests of his country" but that they were not always aligned with those of the US. His comments mark a further public admission that relations between the two allies have come under pressure of late. Recently, US President Donald Trump reportedly clashed with the Israeli...

President Trump on Wednesday endorsed a third $350 billion reconciliation bill, urging Congress to “IMMEDIATELY” pass it with the Save America Act included. “I am hereby calling on Republicans in Congress to IMMEDIATELY advance and pass the forthcoming $350 Billion Reconciliation Bill (Recon 3.0) — which, at the request of our Great Department of War — will include THE SAVE AMERICA ACT as well,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “No games, no delays, and no weak compromises! Do this ASAP,” he added. His comments come a day after Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Senate...

In a handful of former mining towns and villages in north-west England, there is a lot of frustration with the state of the UK. It is common to hear people say "Britain is broken", "we are forgotten", and calls for "change". This is the Makerfield constituency, where locals are being heard louder than ever before in the most consequential by-election in decades. A constituency that made up 0.1% of voters at the last general election is not only picking a new MP on 18 June. Voters here are also potentially choosing the next prime minister. That is because Labour's candidate,...

Republican firebrand Rep. Nancy Mace lost her GOP primary for South Carolina governor, potentially ending her rollercoaster political career. Mace failed to advance to a runoff Tuesday. She was considered a top contender in the race until a series of scandals cut into her in-state support and she bucked President Donald Trump to help release the Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump’s preferred candidate, South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, and Attorney General Alan Wilson advanced to a runoff June 23. It’s the latest victory for Trump on the heels of his success ousting Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), Mace’s ally on the...

@RupertLowe10 Farage throwing around more outright lies about Restore Britain on national television just now - I am entirely uninterested in sliding into the filth through responding. He is attempting to deflect from the fact that two of his senior MPs allowed a brutal third world Sudanese savage into our country. A man was almost beheaded. Neck slashed apart. Eye gouged out. In the middle of the street. He was saved from having his head sawn off by brave bystanders. He was welcomed into our country, handed a visa. By who? Who made the call? Reform's Robert Jenrick as immigration...
