WASHINGTON, April 9, 2007 – The image of thousands of Iraqi citizens peacefully voicing their views in Najaf today illustrates the freedoms they’ve gained since U.S. and coalition forces liberated the country from Saddam Hussein’s iron grip four years ago, a senior U.S. military officer in Baghdad said today. Between 5,000 and 7,000 Iraqis are participating in peaceful anti-U.S. demonstrations in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf, Navy Rear Adm. Mark I. Fox, spokesman for Multinational Force Iraq, told reporters in Baghdad. “That is their right in the new Iraq,” Fox said. “And, it’s only fair, however, to note...

It is thus not surprising to see former Marxists join the ranks of Islamic radicals This is a deviation from Islam proper. Radicals see Islam as a force to lead "enslaved" nations against "ruling" ones. The Koran, however, presents Islam as a way to lead all humans to God's path.

This is a small collection of links, organized into four consecutive categories:1- A look back from now. 2- The 9-11 attack "as it went down, live..."3- The aftermath.4- Remembrance. As with all such posts, there are links within links within links, and to fully remember and inform yourself, you need to follow them all- but be warned! Some will take you to gruesome pictures and disturbing stories, so tread carefully.I honestly believe that most Americans need to view these things, and never forget, or forgive, what was visited on defenseless and innocent people on that black day.Use your own judgement, but...

When the bell tolled, You answered the call, Without reservation only duty, To Honor your oath you came. With your valor never weakening, Your response to serve arrived, You set your course to save, Without hesitation you came. With a never failing courage, A mindset to help and a heart to heal, You answered the solemn call, As the bell tolled again. Without knowing your fate that day, You looked upon the thousand faces, And saw the fear of death that day, Without hesitation you came. Men and women you never knew,Cry out in praise of...

FOUR YEARS after terrorists took down the Twin Towers, smashed a hole in the Pentagon and met their match in an airliner over the fields of Pennsylvania, our government has failed to protect us from another disaster that was forseen by the experts. What can be done to break this pattern? The Bush administration’s domestic response to 9/11 — to consolidate federal emergency avoidance and preparedness services into a giant bureaucracy staffed with politically loyal but not necessarily expert hands — has proven a dismal failure. The administration that had preached smaller, more efficient government did not take its own...

Holding up pictures of their loved ones and signs that read "Preserve Sacred Ground," more than 500 relatives of Sept. 11 victims rallied at the World Trade Center site Saturday against a proposed museum. In Washington, about 1,500 people took part in the Pentagon's walk-in tour of the site where a hijacked plane crashed into the building. Family members worry the International Freedom Center will take attention away from those who died in the attack. They said the museum should not be allowed to show exhibits about struggles for freedom around the world. "These are important stories to tell," said...

September 10, 2005 Ho Hum; Four Years After 9/11 Vincent Fiore While the flood waters are pumped out of the condemned city of New Orleans, lost to the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina is the upcoming anniversary of an event which was wholly man-made, and of singular importance: September 11, 2001. As the forth anniversary of that brutal and horrific day approaches, the politicians--mostly Democrats--and the old media, are preoccupied once again with the hunting of George W. Bush. Not that I didn’t expect it, mind you, for let’s face it: “If a tree were to fall in the forest,...

Infamous tenants all but forgotten Sunday, September 11, 2005 PATERSON - Nothing about the run-down, three-story walkup above a cluttered bodega reveals anything about the murderous plot that some former tenants helped carry out four years ago.The roaches in the hallways look the same, as do the sticky-sweet snacks sold downstairs. But most everything else around here is different. The top-floor apartment has changed hands at least twice since Sept. 11, 2001, when the men who used to live there died along with nearly 3,000 other people in the terrorist attacks the men carried out against the World Trade Center and...

It's now four years since 9-11. Four years since we watched, horrified, as the second airliner hit the World Trade Center tower, since a pal called me to say he was standing out on his balcony watching the Pentagon burn. You can forgive yourself if those images, though etched permanently in your mind, also seem faded into the mists of time. This week end, everyone who loves the freedoms they enjoy should take time to remember 9-11, because we dare not forget. When we remember 9-11, we need to remember it in the context of who we are, and who...

The GOOD includes the incredible courage and devotion to duty shown by the firefighters and police officers of New York City. The New York City Police Department lost 75 personnel attempting to save and protect people in and around the buildings. My son tonight came to me and asked me what happened on 09/11. He's getting older now. He's no longer a toddler but a young boy. He and I went on the web and brought up several web sites and viewed the photos of that day four years ago. As he looked at the pictures he asked me if people are still sad for what happened on that day. I told him I was. After we got done with the looking at the photos and talking about it we were walking upstairs and in the middle of the hall he...

Chaplain’s Corner – September 11 2005 The Following Testimony is from Mr. Paul Brady: He is one of our 9-11 Survivors! I would be honored to bear witness to God's Mercy and Love as an entry on the Pentagon Chaplain's Web Site per your offer. I have been describing the situation surrounding my escape from death from 9-11-01 and believe that my...

Our Friday's night Vigil was a great blessing. We remembered all the victims of hurrycane Katrina. Also we've prayed to remove the terrorism from the nations. Actually fasting prayer is precious and it has a great value before the Lord. Those who are having enough to eat is humbly deciding to avoid one or two or more times food (cost of that food will be submitting for our Lord's ministry and charitable services to the poor) and sit before the Lord to listen and meditate the Word of God and doing intercession for others is the path of our fasting....
