As the dust settles from the midterm elections, Democrats are undoubtedly working on their plans for next year, after they have control of the House and Senate.
But anyone who’s been paying attention won’t need a crystal ball to predict what Democrats will do when they take power. The nation is in for investigations, fiery hearings, and at least one more impeachment attempt against President Donald Trump and possibly members of his cabinet.
Democrats flipped seven Republican Senate seats and about 29 to 32 House seats. Incoming House Oversight Committee Chairman Robert Garcia (CA-42) posted a two-word warning on X: “LAWYER UP.”
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries did not promise a third impeachment attempt in the lead-up to the midterms. But he didn’t rule it out, either.
But now that Democrats will control both chambers of Congress, the prospect of impeachment could be even more dangerous.
Democrats have already filed four impeachment resolutions against Trump after he took office for his second term. All four lawmakers who introduced the resolutions, Reps. Al Green (TX-09), Shri Thanedar (MI-13), Steve Cohen (TN-09) and John Larson (D-CT), lost their primaries or their seats, leaving the resolutions behind as what amounts to a ready-made investigative agenda for the incoming majority.
Trump might not be the only target for impeachment. Back in April, Rep. Yassamin Ansari and eight Democrat cosponsors filed six articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. In fact, Jeffries said last month that one of the first things Democrats would do after taking over is run Hegseth out of town.
But there is an important caveat. Even though Democrats will control the House and Senate, removing Trump is far from a foregone conclusion. Convicting the president in the Senate could pose an insurmountable obstacle for Democrats because it would require 67

Democrats won last night because people want to see prices go down on EVERYTHING, not to waste it on impeachments, if that is what they end up doing they will get their asses kicked in 2028. They ran on affordability, if they dont deliver those two yrs will fly by and they will get creamed again
I bet the Democrats can find enough Republicans to remove Trump from office.
How many RINOcrats will cave to the Dmeonicrats next year, especially if they want to avoid lawfare against them?
Horrible things planned for America.
Horrible things planned for America.
For the next two years the DemonRats will be trying to impeach Trump - no other business than that.
they dont have the votes to remove so any attempt to impeach will be wasted time.
they can investigate all they want, but Trump can simply order everyone associated that might be called to testify, not to appear. And if Democrats try to charge them with a crime for that, Trump can simply pardon them.
Anything they pass, he can veto
They dont have the vote to override a veto and they have no way of stopping anything he does with presidential directives.
Equals = libs accomplish nothing.
We live in a age of global blackmailocracies.
LOL, as if that hasn’t happened before.
They’ll overplay their hand, as usual.
I bet they don’t find enough repugs to remove Trump. If the repugs are stupid enough to do that without actual prove of high crimes and misdemeanors there will be hell to pay and the repugs will disappear. I assure you I’d never vote for them again if they decide to join the temper tantrum.
>President Trump likely had his team to gather up all the insurance they need to keep these blackmailed politicians and political appointees in line.
I’m expecting some Dem Senators to suddenly have a bit of scandal come at them.

We should set some stakes on this bet. Name them.
Point Break,
Bring it!
proof
There’s no impetus to remove a weakened President Trump. He’s more useful as a punching bag for the Democrats. LOTS of hearings, especially on his sons and Jared.
The person who SHOULD be worried is Pete Hegseth. My guess is that to get congressional support for a strategy for extricating ourselves from the Iran War, Hegseth will be defenestrated by the White House.
