Fasting Prayer on 9/11; night vigil was a great blessing

Our Friday's night Vigil was a great blessing. We remembered all the victims of hurrycane Katrina. Also we've prayed to remove the terrorism from the nations.

Actually fasting prayer is precious and it has a great value before the Lord. Those who are having enough to eat is humbly deciding to avoid one or two or more times food (cost of that food will be submitting for our Lord's ministry and charitable services to the poor) and sit before the Lord to listen and meditate the Word of God and doing intercession for others is the path of our fasting. Without having food we make our physical body becoming weak and by the Word of God the spiritual body becoming strength and by the intercession we use our spiritual strength for the goodness of others as a sincere service which God like most. So our Lord answers whatever we ask in prayer.

The children of our orphange attended for the night vigil with fasting prayer. But I don't think it was not the proper way. When they found the shortage of the food at the orphanage, the children over 10 years of age decided not to take food for the sake of the children below 10 years of age. And they said they are fasting for the prayer. Really I didn't know that they were attending for prayer without having any food. Usually our night vigil is not a fasting prayer. They can have their food before joining with the prayer service. If anybody decide not to eat, we won't discourage. This children decided to have fasting because of the shortage of food. Probably their innocent heart had a thought that it will be good for praying. I came to know this, when someone shared this during the testemonial time. The Superintendent of the orphanage also did not mention it before. So I told the children that surely God will reward your fasting prayer, because you're innocent; but it's not the way of fasting prayer and don't repeat it again, I adviced.

In India orphanages get grants from the State Governments. We also have applied for the grant few months back. It is not yet sanctioned. In fact the treasury of the Govt. is under debts and since last three years they do not provide any grants to any of the orphanages, we heard. (No doubt they will get money together, when the Govt. overcome crisis). So orphanages seek funding from indivduals and other agencies. For us, we don't have any funding agencies to support us. That's the reason we are facing struggles. We hope the Govt. will consider our application when their crisis is over, but it will take time. Kindly continue praying for us.

Tomorrow is September 11. We will be having a fasting prayer against the terrorism tomorrow at day time. If anybody wish to join with us for fasting and prayer, you're welcome indeed. If God willing some more believers will be witnessing Jesus in the water within few days. Pray for them.

I don't know what other folks are doing tomorrow, but after Mass, my family is going to burn a koran.  The best part is I got it free from the jihadists at freekoran.com.
