Democrats Clinch Senate as Voters Deliver Blistering Rebuke to Trump
New York times ^ | 4th November 2026

Democratic candidates won races in Republican strongholds, flipping Senate seats in Kansas, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina and even Texas. On a night shaping up as a Democratic romp, President Trump told The New York Times that he would accept the election results.

Democrats seized control of the Senate on Tuesday night, as voters delivered a thorough rebuke to President Trump and handed the party victories in places long considered Republican strongholds. Democrats flipped Senate seats in Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina and even Texas, according to The Associated Press, and were in a strong position to take control of the House as they scored victories up and down the ballot.

Trump told The New York Times in an interview that he was “absolutely willing to accept those results” and was prepared to work with Democrats. “We’ll, you know, look forward to working with them,” he said. “We’ll probably work something out.”

In a night shaping up as a Democratic rout, the biggest victories came in Texas, a state where the party had not won a statewide election since 1998. James Talarico, a state legislator who became a national fund-raising sensation, toppled Ken Paxton, the scandal-ridden Republican state attorney general whom Mr. Trump elevated to the nomination in the spring. And Gina Hinojosa became the first Texas Democrat elected governor since Ann Richards in 1990, by ousting Gov. Greg Abbott, a three-term Republican.

The results came in a midterm election that is the first national mandate on Mr. Trump’s second term. They showed what polls have indicated for months — that voters are supremely dissatisfied with Mr. Trump and Republicans who have backed his agenda.

Democrats also flipped the Senate seat in North Carolina and House seats in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New Jersey and North Carolina.

This is why Thune shuffled his feet on the SAVE act.
And make no mistake, vote fraud played heavily into this.

Trump implored, “Pretend I’m on the ballot.”

This election, people voted like Trump was on the ballot. Trump is got exactly what he asked for—just not the desired outcome.

A rebuke to do what? It’s easy for many here to list the Iran war.

But open the border? Flood in millions more muslims? Raise taxes? Allow crime and drugs to run wild again? Abandon Israel? Make energy MORE expensive? Send more manufacturing jobs overseas? Dismantle our defenses? Sell out to China?

It would be nice if people voted based on policies, but they seldom do.

Trump didn’t lose this, he was too successful and people have no idea that everything he achieved can go poof.

The only thing democrats clinched was illegal votes, and Chinese voting machines.

Foreign-manipulated election results do not a rebuke (let alone a blistering one) make!

No one here recognized the incompetence here except for a few. We tried to warn but were stuffed. You listened to hopium nonsense and tossed intellect aside and set the country back years.

Really? People are rebuking Trump for closing the borders, deporting illegals, cutting taxes, cutting fraud and waste, protecting children from gender mutilation, 4% inflation, 4% unemployment, trillions of dollars of investments from other countries? Okay.

Both parties want open borders and White replacement immigration. Trump didn’t do himself any favors either but we were going to get open borders no matter what.

Yep, here in Georgia, Rick Jackson tied himself as closely to Trump as he could. Keisha Lance Bottoms tied him as close to Trump as she could. It turned out to be aw winning strategy for her.

The Democrats always say they are "voting for change". All the good things you just listed are exactly what they intend to change...for the worse.

It looks like here in Texas, almost every statewide office has gone to the Democrats. This includes our Supreme Court justices. Ugh. It looks like my guns and ammo may have to be lost in a boating accident.
