Schools are letting out, and whether you've got kids or not, something about this time of year still hits differently. Summer stopped being a vacation for most of us a long time ago — but try telling that to the part of your brain still wired to Press Your Luck ("No Whammys!") and the smell of a freshly opened Slip 'n Slide. Core memories are funny that way. Once they're in, they're in for good. '80s Summers Meant Home By the Streetlights, Gone By Morning For a solid ten weeks a year, you roamed your little universe without anyone —...

A Chinese tracking device was discovered in the Prime Minister's official car, MPs were told yesterday. The bug is believed to have been found in a sealed part of the vehicle imported from China. Its discovery during a sweep first emerged in 2023, sparking fears that Beijing was aggressively spying on ministers in the then-Conservative government. Now it has been revealed that the device was in fact found in the Prime Minister's car the previous year. Charles Parton, of think-tank the Council on Geostrategy, told the Commons Business and Trade Committee yesterday: 'The prime minister's car in 2022 was emanating...

Austin Metcalf's dad, Jeff, just unloaded on Karmelo Anthony. "We were robbed, don't look down, of all of these things." "I said from day one, this was never about race, please don't politicize it. But what did you choose to do, both. It's about right and wrong. We're all humans. We all bleed the same color. "You're free to make choices all you want, but you're not free from those consequences. You will face those consequences starting today." "People think that grief is sadness but its not. IT"S RAGE!!! (slamming his hands on the table.) Pure unfiltered rage,' he shouts....

…A video published June 7 on the YouTube channel Mother & Refuge of the End Times shows a compilation of leading exorcists, including Ripperger and Martins as well as Father Jim Blount and Father Dan Reehil making nearly identical statements over the years to Msgr. Rossetti that demons will disguise themselves as so-called “aliens” and UFOs to deceive people. Last week, Cardinal Robert McElroy, who is notorious for his heterodoxy on homosexuality and other key moral issues, removed Rossetti as an exorcist in the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., and ended all affiliation with his St. Michael Center for Spiritual Renewal...

France and Germany have agreed to abandon plans to jointly develop a next-generation fighter aircraft, effectively ending the central element of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) program, according to Reuters. The decision was reportedly reached during discussions between German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of a summit in Montenegro last week.Reuters cited German officials as saying the two leaders concluded there was no realistic path to resolving longstanding disagreements between the industrial partners involved in the project.Launched in 2017 by France and Germany, and later joined by Spain, FCAS was intended to become Europe's...

Oklahoma resident Les Vandever said he is still stunned after seeing a man charging into a herd of bison in Yellowstone. "It was a moment of unbelievable stupidity," he said. “We were sitting in our car, just dumbfounded." Man charging into herd of Yellowstone bison (Photo by: Les Vandever) It’s the summer season in Yellowstone National Park, which means it’s open season for brazen bunglers to try their luck with bison. Given its oft-proclaimed calling as a peace project, the European Union can sound oddly bellicose when it sets about crafting policy. There are trade and fiscal “bazookas” to blast away crises, “silver bullet” solutions for every problem, and “nuclear options” to be used as a last resort. Yet in the absence of an EU army or even a police force, the pen-wielding Eurocracy rarely gets its hands on anything that looks like an actual weapon. The only exception—tellingly—is the club’s border-patrol agency. For over a decade after it was founded in 2005, Frontex agents wielded little more than whistles and...

The Pentagon revised a religious classification list after pushback from Utah lawmakers, but questions remain about why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was left off the list of Christian religions in the first place. BYU religious historian Joseph Stuart said the answer lies in a debate that has been going on for nearly 200 years. After Sen. Mike Lee shared a post online asking if anyone could explain why the Pentagon removed the LDS faith from its list of Christian religions, Stuart said, “The discussion that I would have hoped to have had is to say, ‘You...

Bishop Schneider: ‘Remarkable number’ of Church leaders have ‘lost the faith’The fruits of the loss of faith among clergy are a ‘tremendous general confusion, obfuscation, darkness regarding doctrine, morals, and liturgy,’ Bishop Athanasius Schneider said. Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Astana, Kazakhstan, said that a “remarkable number of high-ranking clergy” have “lost the Catholic faith.”“They want another Church: half-Protestant Church, half worldly, adapted to the impression of the world,” Schneider told Catholic writer and podcaster Matt Gaspers during a larger discussion about the Second Vatican Council and the Society of St. Pius X.“There are a remarkable number of them over the...

The origins of the Roman Catholic Church are not found in Peter preaching at Pentecost, Paul writing to the churches, or the apostles planting local assemblies under the authority of Jesus Christ. The New Testament church began in the first century as a spiritual body of born-again believers saved by grace through faith. The Roman Catholic system, as a centralized, hierarchical, sacramental, state-favored religious institution, began taking recognizable shape in the 4th century, when professing Christianity was forcibly joined to the power structure of the Roman Empire in what can only be described as a hostile corporate takeover. Cue the...

Karmelo Anthony has been found guilty of murder for the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet. Sen. Lindsey Graham has won his Republican primary in South Carolina, NBC News projects, after spending millions to secure the nomination. Graham’s campaign spent more than $13 million on ads in the race, according to AdImpact, as he battled Lynch for the GOP nod. Graham got a boost from Trump, who endorsed the four-term senator last year, and Graham touted his record and his work with Trump in the primary. In one campaign ad, a narrator said...

At a recent meeting of the parliament's Standing Committee on Science and Research, conservative Member of Parliament (MP) Vincent Ho asked, 'What is the definition of a woman?' The simple question immediately sparked outrage with other members of the committee, who jumped down Ho's throat and attempted to prevent Chief Science Advisor Mona Nemer from replying. Ho asked the scientist: 'Before you became chief science advisor, you were a molecular geneticist by training, right? So you know a thing or two about X and Y chromosomes.
