The part about universal public education in order to have a knowledgeable populace to vote intelligently was its downfall. Every Jesse Watters “Johnny” segment questioning average people proves the country is overflowing with ignorant people old enough to vote.
And city public schools are producing “under grade level” reading and comprehension.

What King did the patriots fight against in the US Revolutionary War? “King Tut” “King Charles”.
Who did the people in the colonies fight against for freedom in 1776? “Ourselves” “France” “Israel”
