Meet the new boss. After months of resisting endorsing a successor, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., the former House speaker, officially threw her support behind a fellow progressive, San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Connie Chan, on Monday. She is one of the party’s most successful fundraisers, and Chan is expected to benefit from her fundraising network. Connie Chan is an immigrant from Hong Kong, her politics are well to the left and anti-American, and there have been some questions asked about her ties to Communist China’s propaganda infrastructure. Chan’s 2022 decision, as District 1 Supervisor, to designate Sing Tao...

The alleged gunmen in a shooting rampage that left three people dead outside a San Diego mosque have been identified as 17-year-old Cain Clark and 18-year-old Caleb Velasquez, according to a law enforcement source. At least one of the suspects took a weapon from his parents’ home and left a suicide note that talked about racial pride, a law enforcement source told The Post. Clark attended Madison High School and was a standout wrestler, according to the school’s social media page. His grandfather, David Clark, 78, said: ”We’re very sorry for what happened. We know as much as you do....

American Federation of Teachers boss Randi Weingarten tapped hundreds of thousands in union resources to help write her controversial book — working with a team that raked in more than $1.4 million from the labor group, a new analysis found. Weingarten used the abundance of union-fueled resources for the liberal agenda-pushing “Why Fascists Fear Teachers: Public Education and the Future of Democracy” then pocketed a portion of the proceeds, the Freedom Foundation claimed in a new report. Her team included an attorney who supposedly worked on the book pro bono but whose firm raked in $977,000 for various work for...

America has repeatedly been declared a dying empire, yet every rival—from Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union to China—has ultimately fallen short of US power and resilience. One American view of China—now increasingly popular on the Left and the Right alike, especially among the hate-Trump crowd—is that the communist colossus will be forever ascendant, with continued astonishing levels of food production, ship construction, and industrial output. In this pessimistic view, China will soon replace America as the world’s predominant power. We are, supposedly, like an exhausted British Empire circa 1945, and China is the new version of the postwar American...

When I graduated with a degree in journalism three years ago, I'd hoped to have a full-time, salaried job in my field by now. Instead, most of my days are a hectic blend of part-time and unpaid roles. I often find myself running to my retail job in the morning, catching the train in the afternoon to pick up the kids I nanny for, coming home for a quick dinner, and then wrapping up the day with a few hours at my unpaid, remote internship. It's not exactly how I envisioned spending my 20s in New York, but here we...

Apocalyptic climate-change predictions were box-office gold for Hollywood but they did untold damage to the public psyche, economy and the average man’s pocketbook. Now the United Nations’ influential climate change committee has quietly discarded the dire temperature-rise scenarios used in two previous reports predicting horrific consequences of global warming if greenhouse emissions weren’t curbed. For years, lefty outfits — based on dubious climate science — screamed about the coming climate catastrophe: The New York Times warned that “Climate Change Is Harming The Planet Faster Than We Can Adapt,” “Climate Change Is Speeding Toward Catastrophe” and “A Hotter Future Is Certain.”...

For years, author Mark Steyn mentioned no-go zones and unassimilated communities. In 2017 Raheem Kassam authored the book No Go Zones: How Sharia Law is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You. A comment about the book included the following: “As I read this book, I had forgotten how many people have been murdered in the West in the name of Islam. The commonness with which these attacks are occurring is frightening and even more so, is how numb we’ve become to it. How much blood will be shed before politicians acknowledge the root cause of the problem? Europe is being...

If I didn't have my garage radio tuned to NPR (my early warning system) I never would have known about the stealth plan to build yet another "professional sports complex" with a price tag of $2.3 billion in Hillsborough County. I don't even know which sports team this one's for. The article featured Tampa's Mayor exclaiming they still had a lot of work to do on it but she hoped the "Commission" wouldn't need to "raise taxes" (hint, hint) to get it done. Excuse me, Ms. Mayor but where the hell have you been? In 2024 the County Commission got...

On his first day out black bear hunting in the Snowy Range Mountains, River Mossberg got his pickup hopelessly stuck and had to hike out to find help. His luck changed the next day, however. He spotted a “5XL”-sized bear and stalked to within 118 yards for a clean rifle shot. His dad and best friend also got large bears, making them some of the most successful hunters so far in Wyoming’s spring bear hunting season. The Allure Of Spot-And-Stalk Hunting There are two methods of hunting bears in Wyoming. Some hunters use bear bait, usually in barrels that are...

Iconic burger chain Carl’s Jr. is under increasing financial pressure from both California’s cost of doing business, $20 minimum wage rules and public safety issues that employees allege are spilling into the workplace. Carl’s Jr. has 588 stores in California as of 2025, but that number declined by 25 from 2023, when it had 613 stores in the state, according to internal franchise documents. Last month, a major franchisee filed for bankruptcy, affecting 11% of operations across the state. The doomed franchisee, Friendly Franchisees Corporation, last month explicitly blamed the state’s relatively new $20 minimum fast-food wage touted by the...

The biggest issue for the Irish community in the United States is a current “sense of vulnerability”, Minister of State for Diaspora Neale Richmond has said. Speaking to RTÉ News during a visit to the US, he said that both those who live legally in the US and those who are undocumented are worried about their own immigration status and that of their neighbors. When asked about increased efforts to arrest and detain migrants, he said people are scared. “They’re not necessarily seeing ICE in their neighborhoods. They’re not necessarily feeling under immediate threat. But between media reports, between the...

In recent days, President Trump’s face has started popping up around New Delhi. His portrait, splashed across the red, white and blue of American flag, from the back of dozens of rickshaws buzzing all over the Indian capital. “Happy Birthday America!” the words read. “250 years old.” The campaign was launched last month by Sergio Gor, the U.S. ambassador to India, who has established a flair for spectacle since he arrived at his post in January. The U.S. Embassy announced the rollout on social media last month, saying “Freedom is on the move … literally!” Dozens, possibly hundreds, of...

At a rally in a car park outside his campaign headquarters in Florence, Kentucky, on Saturday, congressman Thomas Massie said that the Republican politicians who joined him had made a brave choice. "I'm sure they'll be punished for coming here today," he said. It didn't take long for Massie's warning to prove prophetic, as Donald Trump took to Truth Social to make his displeasure known. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert of Colorado, who had been barnstorming with Massie all weekend, and Rand Paul, the Kentucky senator who endorsed Massie and shares his unorthodox small-government libertarianism, were "parading around like fools for the...
