Dear FRiends, We need your continuing support to keep FR funded. Your donations are our sole source of funding. No sugar daddies, no advertisers, no paid memberships, no commercial sales, no gimmicks, no tax subsidies. This means no spam, no pop-ups, no ad trackers.

And because we are not a 501C, we have preserved our God-given, constitutionally protected right to free speech without government intervention.

All of the above means Free Republic remains an independent, grassroots, user-funded, conservative forum.

If you enjoy using FR and agree it's a worthy God-Family-Country endeavor, please consider making a contribution today:

Click here: to donate by Credit Card

Or here: to donate by PayPal

Or by mail to: Free Republic, LLC - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, page CA 93794

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Hi Chris,

Last quarter's FReepathon was a nail-biter right up to the last day. Shouldn't have to be like that, I remember when FReepathons regularly got completed in 60 days.

Now we're halfway through this FReepathon, and less than a quarter of the way funded. I wish I could contribute more than my monthly and a few random boosts (just sent another one).

Keep the faith -- somehow we'll keep FR going! God Bless you and the crew.

Last quarter I donated early because I cannot chastise people who have not donated if I have not donated myself. I donated again at the end because I was afraid we would not reach the goal. I hope those who enjoy this site and who do not donate will reconsider and donate now.

Every donation helps!

The first few years I was on FR (registered in 2005 after lurking) I donated whenever it seemed appropriate (usually once a quarter), but I had to remember to do it, and my memory sucks.

So I went to a monthly via PayPal and it's brainless and never skips.

But in recent FReepathons we've been skating the hairy edge of not making it, so I typically also send a separate "one-time" boost (again via PayPal) when circumstances permit during the FReepathon, like today.

I get so much from FR every day that to do otherwise would feel like cheating, and I'm not a Democrat. :-)

I hate to say it, but it’s time to improve the site with more features.

History is History and things change over time. The same
applies to most all things including funding for Free Republic.

I would suggest that you consider getting some commercial ads
that allow those to be visual info as they support the daily use
of FR. Those ads could be rotated every week into three shifts
morning, afternoon and overnight. You can still ask for donations
from the users/readers/commentators. We don't use horses/mules
for work as we have machinery. Many employers work hourly or
weekly of 5/6/7 days. Adaption is necessary in order to survive
commercially. JMO for thought.

It’s open season 24/7/365.

Fire away, and enjoy, like my mom always did.

Please expand the features of FR. It hasn’t been modernized in over 20 years (or maybe 30).

Being able to edit typos is kind of essential. And other things as well. Like not requiring HTML to post photos.

And make a paywall to get rid of ads.

Also improve the features of FR. It’s still a great community but the 1990s tech is holding it back.

I’m not sure what the daily member numbers are but imo they are below what they used to be. The system has been changed that much since it was installed. I got on sometime after it had just begun by a member of the company I worked or. At some later on I couldn’t get logged on so they told me to select another name and log on under that name. So I’ve been here for many years and I agree that change needs to be used to upgrade the system and maybe more people be inline to join. Take care.

Yikes! We are past the half way mark and only at 23%. We need to speed this up. This is a terrible situation.

The daily numbers are way below what they used to be. This place dies around 11 pm eastern time. Used to be able to converse all night, not anymore. The fundraising lag is not surprising given the shit show some posters are allowed to display. All the big donors and fundraising cheerleaders are long gone. This mods here are basically useless, breaking news sidebar is a joke, and the never/anti Trumpers are worse than termites and eating the forum from inside. We used to raise more money in a weekend than what now take 2 months or longer. It’s a shame really. It is what it is. The 1990s software is the least of the problems.

I’ve been hesitant to comment on this, but you are right, and I still like the current layout/format. But unless ooddles of money come through, this website will not last beyond the end of next month. I hope and pray I’m wrong.
