Senate Republicans fume over Trump backing Paxton in Texas race

Senate Republicans on Tuesday vented their frustration and disappointment over President Trump’s decision to endorse state Attorney General Ken Paxton over Sen. John Cornyn (R) in the Texas Senate Republican primary, a move that deals a crushing blow to Cornyn’s hopes of winning the May 26 runoff.

“I don’t understand. He is an ethically challenged individual,” Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said of Paxton, who was charged with defrauding investors in a Dallas-area tech startup before he completed a pretrial diversion program.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said she was “supremely disappointed” in Trump’s endorsement of Paxton over Cornyn. “I don’t understand it,” she said when asked about Trump’s motivation.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said she was “supremely disappointed” in Trump’s endorsement of Paxton over Cornyn.

Those RINOs are boiling mad over this! Collins (who is currently losing to an unknown with a Nazi tattoo in her race) and Murkowski (who found a way to stay in a Senate race about five years ago, even after losing her primary) are questioning Trump's judgement, which is nothing new.

The article also mentions John Thune and Roger Wicker. I guess Mitt Romney was unavailable for comment.

Wicker is another long past the expiration date. They had a chance last time but incumbency’s a tough nut to crack.

Murkowski and Collins don’t realize it yet, but they just endorsed Paxton too! Anyone they are against is someone I want to vote for.

Gee, it’s not like the Senate has been pushing Trump’s judicial appointments or legislative agenda.

To see Murkowski and Collins coming to Cornyn’s rescue tells me all I need to know.

All the right people are pissed off. Paxton, despite his baggage, is MAGA. About time RINO, Deep State Cornyn gets kicked to the curb.

The madder and angrier they are the more I like it.

We didn’t need them to out themselves, but we enjoy it when they do…:)

Paxton has the rare honor of being baptized in a fake impeachment, just like Trump.

That says a LOT about his character (good.)

To my knowledge Roger Wicker is the very most far left wing republican hailing from a remarkably red state.

He never normally gets mentioned but he is potentially the biggest target we need to get rid of.

When you have a progressive republican in a red state, they are not blocking democrats.

They are blockers for conservatives.
