LOS GATOS, CA -- In a move celebrated by casual viewers but criticized by longtime fans of C.S. Lewis's children's book series The Chronicles Of Narnia, Netflix has released marketing materials confirming that The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe will feature the first-ever black White Witch."We wanted a more sympathetic approach to the famously white villain, and believe us - you're going to love the changes in store for each of Lewis's most beloved characters, which reflect the world we live in today." Showrunner Matthew Alrich wrote in a series of Tweets announcing the move. "We hope that sassy...

Pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, is the number one form of HIV prevention, but marketing efforts for the medication are historically targeted towards men who have sex with men. While this community is largely at a higher risk for HIV, this has left an open gap in messaging for the heterosexual community. In 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that heterosexual people made up 22 percent of the 30,635 new HIV diagnoses that year. … Perceptions that HIV is a “gay disease” play a part in the struggle to broaden the message for HIV care.

With Jacinda Ardern's welcome exit from the ranks of world political leaders, leaving a shambles of constitutional freedom and human rights in her wake, now is perhaps an opportune time to reconsider the passage of the 19th amendment in American politics as part of our ongoing series of "To Save America" modest proposals advocating repeal of the most destructive tamperings with the original Constitution. We've already made the arguments for the repeal of the 16th, 17th, 18th (done!), and 26th amendments, so now it's time for the women's suffrage movement to take its turn in the barrel.Oops.Start with this: there...

In a court filing from last week, “Governor” Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) requested that Kari Lake’s election lawsuit be thrown out, claiming that Lake failed to prove that Arizona voters were disenfranchised in the 2022 elections. “Despite seven witnesses, hundreds of declarants, and thousands of pages of exhibits, Lake failed to demonstrate any violations of Arizona law and offered no evidence that absent alleged violations the outcome of the election would have been different,” the filing reads. But on Monday, Lake’s team indicated that more evidence is on the way, and this evidence could be game-changing. “Yesterday @katiehobbs filed to get...

Jared “Riley” Dowell, the 23-year-old child of House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA), appeared in Boston Municipal Court on Monday on charges of assaulting a police officer and vandalism. Dowell pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released after previously posting $500 bail, according to the Boston Globe. The court appearance comes after Dowell was arrested Saturday night at an anti-police protest. During the protest, police discovered Dowell spray-painting the historic Parkman Bandstand in the Boston Common with the acronym “ACAB,” which stands for “all cops are bastards,” and “NO COP CITY,” according to the Boston Police Department.

Pell And Neumayr - Their Suspicious Deaths Cardinal George Pell passed away ten days ago, on January 10, 2023. He had only been released a short while ago while unjustly imprisoned on rather trumped-up charges. Just before his death, the Spectator published what is now His Eminence's final article dealing with the working document for the upcoming "Synod on Synodality". He had some choice, accurate words to say about the 45-page bloviation. To wit:"What is one to make of this potpourri, this outpouring of New Age good will? It is not a summary of Catholic faith or New Testament...

Former President Barack Obama's office declined to answer questions about whether it is searching for classified documents at his residences after documents have now been found in the homes and offices of President Biden, former President Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence. "We have nothing for you at this time," Hannah Hankins, the communications director for Obama, told Fox News Digital when asked if searches for classified material were underway. Five batches of classified documents from President Biden have been discovered since November from his time as Obama's vice president. One batch was located at the Penn Biden Center...

WASHINGTON — The nation’s top environmental agency is still reeling from the exodus of more than 1,200 scientists and policy experts during the Trump administration. The chemicals chief said her staff can’t keep up with a mounting workload. The enforcement unit is prosecuting fewer polluters than at any time in the past two decades. And now this: The stressed-out, stretched-thin Environmental Protection Agency is scrambling to write about a half-dozen highly complex rules and regulations that are central to President Joe Biden’s climate goals. The new rules have to be enacted within the next 18 months — lightning speed in...

TikTok is a Chinese SuperweaponA weapon of mass distractionFor thousands of years, humans sought to subjugate their enemies by inflicting pain, misery, and terror. They did this because these were the most paralyzing emotions they could consistently evoke; all it took was the slash of a sword or pull of a trigger. But as our understanding of psychology has developed, so it has become easier to evoke other emotions in complete strangers. Advances in the understanding of positive reinforcement, driven mostly by people trying to get us to click on links, have now made it possible to consistently give people on...

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced legislation Monday to ban “205 military-style assault weapons by name” and prohibit transfer of “high capacity” magazines. Feinstein cited the January 21, 2023, Monterey Park shooting as the impetus for the reintroduction of the “assault weapons” ban. She said, “We were tragically reminded this weekend of the deadly nature of assault weapons when a shooter used one to kill 11 people and injure 9 more at a Lunar New Year celebration in California.”

A former church youth leader who was recently a PTA president in Tennessee has been arrested and extradited to Troup County in Georgia. Dustin Spillers, 34, has been charged with one count of aggravated sexual battery and three counts of child molestation. “On December 20th, a victim of Dustin Spillers came forward and told their parents what happened to them,” says Sydney Moore on a GoFundMe page for Spillers’ wife, Whitney. Moore identified herself as Whitney’s friend, saying, “All of this information came out while [Whitney] and her family had gone to Georgia for her Aunt Dot’s funeral, who was...

In a ruling this past June, the U.S. Supreme Court said the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; and it said the authority to regulate abortion resides with “the people and their elected representatives” — with the states, in other words. But as state legislatures begin their sessions in this new year, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a warning on Monday: Any attempt by the states to ban or restrict abortion may be met with federal intervention of some kind, including lawsuits. “On the day Roe was overturned, I said the Justice Department would use every tool...

CLAIM: White house press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed the result of the 1994-2004 “assault weapons” ban was that “mass shootings went down.” VERDICT: False. Jean-Pierre opened Tuesday’s press conference by talking about the mass shootings that have been occurring in California, the state that has more gun control than any other state in the Union. Ironically, one of California’s gun controls is an “assault weapons” ban. Nevertheless, Jean-Pierre pushed for an “assault weapons” ban at the federal level, saying, “The last time we had an ‘assault weapons’ ban on the books, thanks to the President and Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA)...

Now, Bishop Heiner Wilmer is once again reported to be the Holy Father’s pick to head the Vatican’s office...

South Korea’s dictator reluctantly commuted the death sentence of democracy activist Kim Dae-jung on January 24, 1981 … a gesture that would eventually enabled Kim to return the same favor to the dictator. A farmer’s son who became a wealthy businessman and a charismatic orator, the Catholic Kim had been a fixture of the political opposition since the 1960s which was a dangerous profession. In his address accepting the Nobel Peace Prize for 2000, Kim reflected that five times I faced near death at the hands of dictators. Six years I spent in prison, and 40 years I lived under...

A painting with mysterious origins is likely a Raphael masterpiece, researchers from the U.K. said after using facial recognition technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the portrait. The Renaissance-era painting, named the de Brécy Tondo, has been studied extensively for more than 40 years. Researchers from the University of Nottingham and University of Bradford used an artificial intelligence facial recognition system developed by Hassan Ugail, a professor of visual computing at Bradford, to determine its likely creator. Instead of DNA, the system uses DNN – a deep neural network – which identifies patterns in images and videos. The system...
