President Joe Biden on Thursday contradicted Vice President Kamala Harris’s assertion less than a week ago that Russian sanctions would “absolutely” deter Russia from invading Ukraine. Speaking from the White House, Biden told reporters that “no one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening,” referencing Russia’s Wednesday evening invasion of Ukraine. Russian leader Vladimir Putin ordered a “special operation” into Ukraine that has resulted in ongoing heavy military clashes between the two countries and the Russian seizure of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

But the facts are the facts are the facts, and the facts are these… Thanks to the West’s environmentalists, those smug greenies who are more concerned with carbon output than world peace, this gangster controls much of the energy going to the European Union (E.U.). Per Statista, here are the countries most dependent on Russia for natural gas. The percentages tell us just how dependent: North Macedonia (100 percent) Finland (94 percent) Bulgaria (74 percent) Slovakia (70 percent) Germany (49 percent) Italy (46 percent) Poland (40 percent) France (24 percent). It gets worse. As of 2019, a full 27 percent...

Ukraine is being hit by a second wave of missile strikes from Russia following a heavy bombing campaign this morning. Troops and tanks have entered the Vilcha crossing, which lies less than a...

A Russian journalist denied her country was invading Ukraine during an interview with i24NEWS, while footage of the invasion played beside her. “Let’s get one thing straight, you’re saying troops, however, there has not been any proof of actual troops going into Ukraine,” Moscow journalist Tatiana Kukhareva said on Thursday. Because of this, she said Russia’s actions could not be called an “invasion” and that her government was only attacking “military targets” through airstrikes. Footage of Russian tanks in Ukraine began playing while Kukhareva spoke, which she did address. “What you’re showing now, those, unfortunately, the pictures that … cannot...

I will begin with what I said in my address on February 21, 2022. I spoke about our biggest concerns and worries, and about the fundamental threats which irresponsible Western politicians created for Russia consistently, rudely and unceremoniously from year to year. I am referring to the eastward expansion of NATO, which is moving its military infrastructure ever closer to the Russian border. It is a fact that over the past 30 years we have been patiently trying to come to an agreement with the leading NATO countries regarding the principles of equal and indivisible security in Europe. In response...

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared martial law Thursday and announced the country had severed diplomatic ties with Russia after the giant neighboring nation launched a military invasion into Ukraine. Beijing on Thursday refused to criticize Russia's attack on Ukraine, instead calling for a diplomatic solution. China also approved the importation of Russian wheat, a move that could blunt the effects of sanctions levied on the Kremlin. South Korea will sanction Russia over its attack on Ukraine, President Moon Jae-in said Thursday, according to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.

(CNN)With only a few days left in February, court watchers are trying to read tea leaves as to the identity of President Joe Biden's pick for the Supreme Court before his end-of-the-month deadline -- and a federal court on Thursday increased the buzz around DC Circuit Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit deviated from its typical procedure by issuing an opinion on a Thursday -- breaking with its usual schedule of Tuesday and Friday release days. Notably, Jackson -- who has interviewed with Biden for the Supreme Court nomination -- was...

Since Russia had long used this flawed agreement as a lever of pressure on Ukraine, this is not necessarily a bad thing. It does, however, leave no agreed mechanisms for securing the release of at least 300 civilian hostages and 44 POWs, many of whom urgently need medical treatment. During a press conference on 22 February,...

People who have looked their mortality in the face often describe their near-death experiences in surprisingly similar terms – vivid recollection of memories, a sense of standing outside of their body, bright lights, or a feeling of tranquility. While there is plenty of anecdotal evidence from people who have had near-death experiences (NDEs), scientists have little to no data on what happens in the brain as people transition into death. However, under tragic circumstances, scientists have collected the first continuous data on the neural dynamics of the brain during death. When an 87-year-old patient developed seizures after receiving surgery due...

President Joe Biden on Thursday announced that the US will impose a second, harsher round of sanctions on Russia following its large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Biden announced that he had authorized "additional strong sanctions" and "new limitations" on what can be exported to Russia. "We have purposely designed these sanctions to maximize the long term impact on Russia and minimize the impact on the United States and our allies," Biden said. Building on previous economic penalties imposed by the US, the sanctions target four more major banks in Russia and Russian elites. "Every asset they have in America will be...
