Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer apologized Sunday after apparently violating state-mandated social distancing guidelines at an East Lansing bar and grill. It was the latest pandemic-related misstep for the Democratic governor, who waited weeks to disclose partial details of a private jet trip she took to visit her father in Florida after two of her top aides headed south as coronavirus cases surged in Michigan and residents were cautioned against traveling south for spring break. A photo circulated on social media of Whitmer with a large group of unmasked people at an East Lansing bar-restaurant, The Landshark Bar & Grill.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is now calling for more investigation into China to uncover the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, a dramatic reversal from his earlier position in which he dismissed theories that COVID-19 emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. In a recent interview that received little attention, Fauci was asked by PolitiFact editor Katie Sanders whether he is "still confident that [COVID-19] developed naturally?" Shockingly, Fauci said he doubts the natural emergence of COVID-19. "No, actually," Fauci said. "No, I'm not convinced about that. I think that we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we...

All social media platforms have been asked by the Indian government to take down any content that refers to an "Indian variant" of coronavirus, according to a letter published over the weekend. Sorry about the vanity, but here goes....my wife and I sold our Bay Area home and bought a nice place in suburban Boise. Our kids were in school, limited masks and life was about 80% of normal vs. 20% in California. Fast forward to May. My wife hates it here. She is conservative but said she would pay the high taxes, property taxes and cost of living to avoid the culture here. She thinks that our school-aged kids will not be able to prosper if they stay here in Idaho. No exposure to worldly things, more blue collar, less sophistication,...

Late on a Friday night, eight dog enthusiasts and their pet pooches prowl several dark alleys in New York's Lower East Side with one mission: to hunt and kill as many rats as possible. The dogs, mostly terriers, pant and strain at their leashes before diving into trash bags and emerging seconds later with a convulsing rodent between their teeth. "They're bred for the job. They're wired for the job. They live for the job," explained Richard Reynolds, organizer of the Ryders Alley Trencher-fed Society, or R.A.T.S. for short. New York's furry rodents are notorious. Legend has it there are...

She believes she gave the coronavirus to her father; Bernie Rubin died weeks later. “At the beginning, people would say, ‘Well, how did he get it?’ From me. That’s how he got it — he...
