Fellow Americans, there comes a time every mans life when we must give up ourselves before we are worthy to recieve. Today, Americans have forsaken the creator for the creation and have decided that they would value our "civil liberties" than protecting western civilization and rich white people from the tender mercies of radical Islamic terrorists. Selfish liberals insist and whine that Bush has no right to spy on Americans and ban certain undesirables from using our airlines. They demand the right to criticize and blaspheeme the name of our supreme commander and cheef George W Bush while forcing multiculturalism down our throats and praising Bill Clinton. We all know however that it's totally Clintons fult for everything bad in america. Now we are at war and we must make a decision. support the safty of America and defeat terrorists, or support civil liberties and give victory to the enemy. Its all because of Bill Clinton and civil liberties that we are in this war so it is only fair that we give it up. no one said life was supposed to be fair you liberal crybabys. Dont give me that rubbish about equality and diversity. WE ARE AT WAR! If your not for Bush and against civil liberties your a terrorist! Your probably even a Communist and should be detained. Therefore fellow Americans we must throw all of our trust and resources behind George W Bush and behind this war with no ifs ands or buts. Be sure to report any and all detractors and freedom supporters to your local military and never question. Bush knows what hes doing and we will win this war once and for all. The beauty if his character is that he's a shape-shifter, and there's really no way that you can depict him that would be inaccurate per se.

But yeah, the hippie/kung-fu-type is the one that best suits that particular avatar of the Man in Black.

For some reason, I've always "seen" David Carradine in that role, but just never really saw his face. I mean, he's skinny and his hair is straight and lank, and he says wierd things. Does things with objects at hand and makes weapons of them, convinces people he's blind...yep...Carradine, alright.

I think "The Stand" miniseries was one of the best film adaptations of Stephen King's work to date.

One of the few truly outstanding performances of Molly Ringwald as well.

BTW, there's also some metal band from NJ called Randall Flagg.

I didn't get to see the mini-series, but I just finsihed reading The Stand, not too long ago. It was the edition where he added everything that had been taken out. I like it much better!

You should try to get the DVD.

Carradine did a phenomenal job in both movies.

Even if for people who don't like Tarantino as a director it's a great action-adventure flick.

One film is mostly narrative, and back-story-exploring the chain of events that led each character to the position he/she occupies in the plot-while the other is mostly a shoot-'em-up kung fu/spaghetti Western.

But even the violent aspects of the film have been overhyped, IMO.

There's a lot of it-to be sure-but it's cartoon violence, more akin to Manga than Reservoir Dogs.

There are a few particularly gross scenes, but nothing that graphic.

Sometimes, I have weekends where all I want to do is watch movies, so maybe that's a good thing to get for one of those weekends. I just veg out in front of the TV and put in one movie after another.

The miniseries of "The Stand" is also pretty awesome.

It complements the unabridged version of that story well.

Aside from Ringwald, Gary Sinese stars in it, and the guy from "Coach."

The tall, blonde asst. coach whose name I can't recall.

Anyway, it was one of the best adaptations of his work that I've seen, and the only halfway decent TV-movie that's been created from one of his novels.

You might want to maximize your options. A proper design could be upgraded for different purposes.

I was thinking about this kind of concept a few days ago, as I contemplated the task of shoveling snow.

Powered, or unpowered, anything that reduces muscle fatigue by load redistribution would be of benefit, but a small augmentation would make it a killer of an application.

Consider, getting the snow on the shovel is not a problem, but just a little boost when arcing it over to the discard pile would save many a heart.

Then there's the matter of climate control. With a bit of energy input, the worksuit could make an arduous task no more than a walk in the park.

If ever we send astronauts to a heavy-gravity planet, they'll need protection from the elements (or lack of them) as well as artificial strength to carry the load. But we don't need to wait even that long. Lots of us are getting weaker for various reasons, or we have some tasks that require a bit of muscle power, but don't have workcrews to call on.

A basic suit which could be upgraded easily would form the basis of quite an enterprise.

Here's another idea. Using the motion of the person in the suit to regenerate energy, as pistons compress air to be stored. Ideally, the mere action of walking, running, and jumping would provide the extra strength for the carrying of supplies, or the jumping over obstacles with power assist.
