Fellow Americans, there comes a time every mans life when we must give up ourselves before we are worthy to recieve. There comes a time in this war on terror when in order to protect liberty, we have to give it up in the mean time for safty. That's right folks. Today, Americans have forsaken the creator for the creation and have decided that they would value our "civil liberties" than protecting western civilization and rich white people from the tender mercies of radical Islamic terrorists. Selfish liberals insist and whine that Bush has no right to spy on Americans and ban certain undesirables from using our airlines. They demand the right to criticize and blaspheeme the name of our supreme commander and cheef George W Bush while forcing multiculturalism down our throats and praising Bill Clinton. We all know however that it's totally Clintons fult for everything bad in america. Now we are at war and we must make a decision. support the safty of America and defeat terrorists, or support civil liberties and give victory to the enemy. Its all because of Bill Clinton and civil liberties that we are in this war so it is only fair that we give it up. no one said life was supposed to be fair you liberal crybabys. Dont give me that rubbish about equality and diversity. WE ARE AT WAR! If your not for Bush and against civil liberties your a terrorist! Your probably even a Communist and should be detained. Therefore fellow Americans we must throw all of our trust and resources behind George W Bush and behind this war with no ifs ands or buts. Be sure to report any and all detractors and freedom supporters to your local military and never question. Bush knows what hes doing and we will win this war once and for all. You may be surprised by the A/C in India. A lot of people are addicted to it, and most places have huge ceiling fans so you can go from "Breeze" to "Hurricane" in a heartbeat!

Try the local produce, too, (washed well!) and don't forget to eat some ice cream. I also think you will find most signs are bi-lingual, as well. (Just don't take any tours of the butcher "shops."

Actually, the summer has higher days and warmer nights...nights usually in the 70's and 80's while the days are in the 100's. I still prefer the Las Vegas heat as it is hotter and lasts longer, so I'm like a lizard on a rock, waiting for my blood to warm up. ;o]

I'm not much on sweets as a rule. Is the ice cream something exceptional? (If it's like Persian faludeh I will have to try some!) Generally, though, I gather my hosts will be there 24/7 -- just as they were in P.R.China.

I'm allergic to my cats. I shouldn't have them in the same room with me. But some days, I miss having someone to yell at...

I remember a time when I was like that... but then I became a Pacific Northwet troglodyte: the perfect day is gray, in the low 50s, and misting heavily with a fresh light breeze.

No, I stayed in Pak, but the "Disputed Territory" was very close, as were a lot of Indian customs. The person I went to visit was half Pakistani and half Indian, so he still had a lot of the customs and culture of both parents.

The ice cream was to DIE for. I actually enjoyed the food there, but everything was spiced, so I had to find something not quite so volatile.

I thought it was closer to 45 to 50. That's when my sweet tooth went away... and there are (rare) times I just can't eat meat.

I was a desert girl born and bred, and didn't know it when I moved to Oly for 13 months. BIG mistake. I developed arthritis in my elbows, and that was not fun. The area is beautiful, and I would love to visit it again (on my way to Alaska) but I don't know if that will ever be in the works. I have a niece who works for Mr. Bill, and she will most likely never leave the area.

I love meat. I have a hard time if I have to go a few days without meat and/or dairy products. I can't think as well, for some reason...

Spiced as in hot? The goodwife is preparing me -- the other day she brought home a bag of Fiery Habanero Doritos. Yum, even if my mouth was on fire in short order and I was pouring perspiration soon after. But apparently once you reach a certain point, more isn't really hotter. (Maybe I burned out a few nerve endings?)

You have said that before, and that's the telling point! The goodwife says that about Iran, though she is willing to wait until the, um, political climate changes.

I've had chronic, but mild, sinus trouble since I was a kid, about 11 or so. It's nice to know that it's not a bunch of low grade constant allergic reactions... Allergist thought that all I really need for my congestion is to pop the occasional sudafed and maybe try one of the cortisone sprays like flornase.

Part of it here is dry air, lots of alkali to keep me dry.

Lots of people in my family have lots of allergies, so I am lucky.

Yes, the food is "hot"...I was surprised at how close to Mexican food it was in flavor and style. They even have a "tortilla" but it is made with soda or yeast so it is puffy and yummy! And they eat with their fingers...(Not to mention how closely the Paks resembled the Mexicans in stature and attitude...)

Yes, I would love to go back, but I would also like to go to Iran and Egypt and Morocco and Lybia...but I suspect the political climate for the foreseeable future is not conducive to any of those visits.

(I keep my passport valid, "just-in-case!")

Myt son used Flonase. He got all his allergies from his dad. the ONLY thing he wasn't allergic to was roses. Grasses, trees, flowers, cat, dogs, horses, cows, rabbits, birds....he really suffered when we were in Oly and in St. Charles...

At least you live "close" to the lake. That should help a little. Sometimes. Maybe.

We will not be staying here forever, sadly. The goodwife is dealing with increasing allergies every year -- various tree pollens and mold spores, and we have no shortage of trees and mold here!
