This week, ProPublica released a report on the financial (and moral) corruption of a Tea Party group operating under the name Move America Forward, which was founded by one Sal Russo. Russo also helped start the Our Country Deserves Better PAC, aka the Tea Party Express. Move America Forward has run fake drives to give care packages to troops, stolen images of other charitable campaigns and passed them off as its own, and trumpeted a nonexistent partnership with Walter Reed Hospital — all while funneling very real millions to itself. The group is an industry leader at taking your Tea...

The leader of the Tea Party Nation organization has a blunt message for likely Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney: Tea partiers will likely vote for you, but don’t expect them to get energized and campaign for you. “The tea party is not going to coalesce around Romney,” Judson Phillips told The Daily Caller on Thursday. “Most of us will vote for Romney, but we will not be out there with signs for him or in his campaign.” Phillips said that surveys conducted on the Tea Party Nation website have shown that about 25 percent of tea party activists say they...

This Saturday will be the most important primary vote of the year. Either conservatives and Tea Party members unite to stop Mitt Romney or we see a repeat of 2008, with a liberal Republican going up against Barack Obama. The conservative movement is split between three candidates, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum.I am calling on conservatives and members of the Tea Party movement to unite behind Newt Gingrich in South Carolina so that we can stop Mitt Romney. If we are going to see a conservative agenda advanced, we need a conservative candidate to do it and the only remaining...

The leader of a tea party group is calling for scandal-embroiled GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain to drop out of the race. Judson Phillips, the founding leader of Tea Party Nation, said Cain’s flailing response to sexual harassment allegations brought forward by several women was simply unacceptable. “Herman Cain has got to go,” Judson said in an email to Tea Party Nation members. “I do not believe Cain’s accusers. There are too many questions about them. The allegations are not why Cain should leave. The campaign’s response is why he should now withdraw.”

[snip] This year, Republican presidential candidates are aggressively courting the movement's eager-to-work followers and trying to tap into their influential social and fundraising networks. Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, the founder of the House of Representatives Tea Party Caucus, and other diehard conservatives are already activists' favorites. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman are not; they're perceived as too moderate and compromising. But in his economic blueprint, released last week, Romney lauded the movement, saying, "The rise of the tea party is a classic instance of the self-correcting forces of American democracy...

As if Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips’ embrace of the “birther” position and his support for restricting voting rights of non-property owners weren't enough, now his national Tea Party faction appears to be moving closer towards the embrace of full-fledged white nationalism.

'We cannot fight Obama when we have to fight those who are supposed to be allies.' BY BOB UNRUH The Tea Party Nation, one of the largest groups in the tea party movement that rocked the 2010 elections, ejecting California Rep. Nancy Pelosi from her seat of power and electing a Republican majority in the U.S. House, earlier said that new Republican House Speaker John Boehner should be replaced because of his unwillingness to crack the whip on federal spending. Now Tea Party Nation leaders say they can't wait that long to seek his exit. "Three months ago, TPN called...

The debate over public workers' unions took over the old state Capitol building in downtown Raleigh Saturday afternoon. A few hundred people joined a rally organized by the State Employees Association of North Carolina and MoveOn.org to support state employees in Wisconsin who would lose collective bargaining rights under a budget-cutting plan. They carried signs with slogans like "Unions make us strong" and "Fund pensions, not wars." Between 100 and 150 people belonging to various conservative groups held a counter-protest across the street. They held signs declaring "SEIU/SEANC, your gravy train is out of steam," "Rein in public sector unions"...

(RTTNews) - A prominent Tea Party group sent a message to members on Monday identifying five current Republican Senators that they intend to target in 2012. Tea Party Nation named Sens. Dick Lugar, R-Ind., Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, Scott Brown, R-Mass., and Bob Corker, R-Tenn., as Republicans that need to be sent into retirement, accusing them of being Republicans In Name Only, or RINOs. The message cited Lugar's vote against a ban on earmarks as well as a his votes in favor of the DREAM Act and the START Treaty. Hatch was also criticized for being a "pork...

The founder of a leading tea party group is showing himself to be quite the bizarre extremist, shocking I know. Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips became worked up after seeing a banner supporting the DREAM Act on a Washington area Methodist Church. He promptly posted an anti-immigration screed on his website, wherein he said “My dream is the Methodist church goes out of business.” He then proceeded to paint the church as a breeding ground for “Karl Marx” Communists and socialists. If this makes no sense to you, join the club. “I have a DREAM. That is, no more...

Tea Party Nation founder and CEO Judson Phillips plans to set the GOP congressional leadership straight about the tea party's legislative demands, after a handful of Tea Party Patriots and a homosexual activist group, GOProud, released an open letter last Monday urging Republicans to ignore social issues. This coming Monday, Phillips plans to release an open letter of his own urging the GOP to address several fiscal matters and at least three social issues, including the preservation of the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy banning open homosexuals in the military. "There is a battle going on for the heart and...

Joe Wierzbicki, coordinator for the Tea Party Express, issued the following statement Monday in response to the Tea Party Federation's announcement Sunday about the Federation's relationship with the Tea Party Express: "The Tea Party Express with over 400,000 members is by far larger than the Tea Party Federation’s entire membership. Most rank-and-file tea party activists think we’re talking about Star Trek when we try to explain who the “Federation” is. Given the absurdity of the actions by the "Federation," this is quite fitting, since their conduct is alien to our membership. "Groups trying to say who can or can't be...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --Here in the weather-controlled, domed fan tasy world that is Opryland, with its fake river and cheesy tour boat meandering through a manufactured rain forest, Tea Party Nation seems like a great idea. This venue, a hotel and convention center that used to be a theme park, is a fairy-tale Land of Patriots where men wear white wigs under tricorn hats and women tremble with patriotic fervor wearing their American flag sweaters. Folks here at the Tea Party movement's first national "convention" talk about all the good America stands for in the world, how their country is under...

I am not sure of how "transformational" or "historical" this Tea Party Convention being held in Nashville will be, but all I know is, there are a LOT of people who will be watching and there are many (from all sides of the political spectrum) who seek to destroy it and in effect, destroy the entire movement the convention has come to represent. The other day, I was reminded of how Sarah Palin's church in Wasilla was nearly destroyed in December by an arson fire. Investigators concluded someone with malicious intent started the fire and intended for the building to...

My wife and I are committed to the Tea Party movement having attended events all over Southwest Ohio and the national event in Washington, DC on 9-12. 2:00 PM : Checked in to the convention and the place is hopping with every cable network sending live feeds. They’re interviewing everything and anything that can walk or talk. My wife and I were interviewed by somebody named Mary from CNN. (told...

1) Palin obviously realizes that not every person she endorses will have platforms that necessarily line up with her views 100%. 2) When you look at some of the candidates's views and records individually, some will most definitely have major weak spots. 3) However, when you look at the sum total of the people she supports, I think what you'll find is that their strengths complement each other's. For example, one candidate may be strong on foreign policy and social issues, another, like Rand Paul is for border security, fiscal discipline, and Constitutionalism. 4) Sometimes the people with the right...
