From my AI discussion:
THE BUTCHER'S THUMB: THEY WON. NOW GOVERN.
Okay, folks. We lost.
No pouting. That's for babies. No excuses. That's for amateurs.
The American people voted Tuesday and chose a lot of people whose politics WE strongly oppose. That's their right. That's what elections are for. They won.
Congratulations.
Now govern.
I've spent a lot of time this week thinking about what I mean when I call myself a conservative. I don't mean the caricature of some rich old bastard yelling "Get a job!" at a hungry man beside the road.
I believe in free enterprise and private property. I believe people should ordinarily be allowed to keep the fruits of their labor and make their own choices. I believe in the Constitution, whose defense I once solemnly swore an oath to undertake. I believe America is worth loving despite its faults. I believe a strong nation sometimes needs a strong military, but after 22 years in uniform and watching what happened after Afghanistan and Iraq, I certainly don't believe war should be our first answer to the world's problems. But should Iran have nukes? Nobody wants that, and we cannot ignore it. And I think, as does everyone I know, that people who illegally enter this country still need to get out and not simply be welcomed back. Voting is sacred, and absolutely every voter should positively identify himself or herself. The vast majority, not just conservatives, believe that.
And conservatives who call themselves Christians ought to remember something considerably older than the Republican Party: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That includes people who voted the wrong way Tuesday. Democrats ought to remember it too. The Golden Rule didn't come with an R or a D after it.
None of those principles disappeared when the votes were counted. But something did change.
The campaign is over. Governing begins.
And that means the rhetoric ought to change too.
That's what bothers me about some of what I'm already hearing. Incoming House Oversight chairman Robert Garcia has a warning for the people he intends to investigate: "LAWYER UP." He has publicly described a substantial investigative agenda for the incoming Congress.
Congress absolutely has a responsibility to conduct legitimate oversight. Nobody gets immunity because he's a Republican. Nobody gets immunity because he's a Democrat. Nobody gets immunity because he's a billionaire, a Cabinet secretary or somebody whose politics I happen to like.
But there is an enormous difference between: Here is evidence of wrongdoing. Let's investigate it. Versus: Here is the political opponent. Let's investigate him and see what we can find.
There's an old expression associated with Stalinist justice: Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime. Its precise attribution is disputed, but its meaning isn't.
That principle has no legitimate place in the United States of America.
And it wouldn't become acceptable if Republicans did it to Democrats, either.
Which brings me, finally, to why we're here on Sunday morning.
Look at that guest list.
Elizabeth Warren. Bernie Sanders. Hakeem Jeffries. Robert Garcia. Newly elected Democrats. Republicans. Winners and losers.
I have a pretty good idea what I'm afraid we're going to hear this morning.
On these shows today...
1. When investigations come up, will anyone ask what evidence justifies them? Or will they simply ask: Who are you going to subpoena first? How far will you go?
2. When impeachment comes up, will anyone ask what specific impeachable conduct occurred? Or will it be: Who comes first? How quickly can you move? Will the first impeachment begin January 4th or January 5th?
3. When billionaires come up, will anyone ask whether political participation and political donations are rights that apply equally to people on both sides? Or will the discussion simply become: What are you going to do about Elon Musk and the billionaires who supported Trump (of course never George Soros or Michael Bloomberg and dems)? When will you nationalize Starlink and SpaceX?
4. When Tuesday's election comes up, will anyone ask what the voters actually sent these people to Washington to accomplish? Or will Tuesday be interpreted as a mandate for investigations, subpoenas and settling old political scores?
5. When the increasingly ugly rhetoric comes up, will anyone ask whether the winners now have a responsibility to lower the temperature? Or will television encourage them to turn it up another notch because anger, accusation and revenge make better television?
So to the winners: take the victory. Make your arguments. Introduce your legislation. Persuade the country. If you want to change the Constitution, make the case and use the constitutional process. We'll oppose you whenever we believe you're wrong. That's politics. Not a crime.
But don't mistake political victory for permission to punish the people you defeated or to “get” Trump. He’s gone in two years, for goodness sakes. Hegseth did what Trump told him to as a matter of politics and being a subordinate. No one knows what private conversations they may have had. I don’t think Congress has to know them either. Massie of all people wants to bring up impeachment of Hegseth now because he did what Trump wanted him to do. Go after, Trump, m-Ass-e, if you have the stones. Thank goodness you’ll soon see the door. I’m sure you got some nice friendly democrats from the DSA to take up your torch.
Govern.
And journalists? Don't merely ask who's next. Don't sell us tickets to the next fight. Ask the questions that government needs asked. Let's watch.
The Butcher's Thumb, as usual, is the product of a long discussion and collaboration between yours truly and my SI. I supply the opinions, historical detours, occasional profanity and atrocious voice-to-text. The SI checks my facts, tells me when I'm full of it, and somehow turns the resulting mess into English.
“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!
Mark 9:35King James Version
And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
Sometimes God refines you by fire and other times he refines entire states and countries. As bad as this election appears there is always a silver lining, we got rid of some of the worst people in the House and Sinate. There finally is no Susan Collins or Lindseed Graham’s legacy which have been one long stabbing in the back. It is nearly as rich as the Communists being funded by the Oligarchs they are always championing against. It wasn’t the poor or illegal aliens writing those multi-million-dollar checks. It was their billionaires who own them lock-stock-and-barrel.
Communism sounds really good on paper, but it is an 18th century economic system which is always surrounded by killing fields and gulags to support their purges. It has never worked anywhere it has been tried in the last hundred years and has led to somewhere between 200 million and a billion murdered.
Now this country is about to be run by communists and communist sympathizers who think they are avant-guard by supporting this form of slavery. They are selling it the same old way of free candy, healthcare and stealing from the Oligarchs and giving to you. There is nothing new about Karl Marx, he was an ancient professor who watched workers being paid slave wages in the agrarian era and wanted to take the farms from the land barons and give them to the workers which is a completely different time and technology. It has failed everywhere it has been tried.
These Communists are the true puppets of the Globalist Oligarchs who want to enslave you under higher taxes and lower opportunities. They never count higher taxes as a factor of affordability when it is the main factor. Trump lowered average workers’ taxes by $5-10,000 with his Big Beautiful Bill. Every one of these Communists voted against that tax cut and will take it away next year and leave all those workers holding the bag.
Who could imagine in Oregon someone so despised like Kotax who has and will raise your taxes higher and higher while taking away the rest of your freedoms was still loved by the Dims. They would vote for Jeffrey Dalmerif he had a D next to his name so it is hard to say how to get over their 100,000 vote advantage in P-Town. What could possibly motivate them to leave the Baby Killing Cult and vote for freedom?
It is very possible Trumponomics are going to bear fruit without the House and Sinate in the next year and beyond. As oil continues to expand and Iran continues to wind down there will be lower and lower fuel prices which will lead to an economic revival. Trump could become a hero if gas gets cheap again. They have zero chance of increasing affordability although their voters really don’t expect them to accomplish it and only care about virtue points which is what they sell.
Sometimes refining fire is good and other times it is destructive. This could reveal the evil in Communism since they are now the ones under the microscope and they need to show where this 18th century slavery has worked. Let the games begin.
Pray for President Trump

Great post, AB !
Great post, AB !
The bugaboos of affordability/inflation/gas prices/ME war will all be resolved long before '28 elections allowing Trump's economy to soar.
Donks will try to claim credit, but Mr. Veto won't allow any of that, which presents a comfy runway for Rubio/Vance/DeSantis ...whomever. "We created these days of wine & roses..let us continue".
One of the stickiest thorns was inflation, of which they say inflation never retreats, it only slows manageably, but once oil flows gas and diesel prices plummet everything will become cheaper. Some--or much--of inflation will be clawed back
Here's just one of a few posts I just got through posting:
Your stuff is soooo good!
Here's more on the massive voter fraud the dirty dems got away with on Tuesday and long before.
Election Worker Claims Republican Votes for Andy Biggs Were Discarded During Ballot Adjudication — Over 54% of Adjudicated Ballots Flagged as Overvotes
by Jim Hᴏft Nov. 7,

Below from Rachael Alexander: journalist:
🚨🚨🚨🚨Nothing to see here, and the MaRICOpa County Supervisors wouldn't let anyone investigate anyway.
I received this message from someone:
(below a message Rachael gets from an adjudicator in Maricopa county elections)
Hi. I am working as an adjudicator in the Maricopa County BTC. There are and continue to be anomalies in adjudication.
What we are seeing is Republican ballots that were voted Biggs but also voted Hobbs.
With an X through the Biggs vote. This takes the ballot to adjudication as an over vote. Adjudicators will then remove the Biggs vote because the X shows voter intent to change their mind. The vote goes to Hobbs.
We have also been seeing votes for Biggs and Lombardo together. Creating another over vote. Only this time the Biggs vote isn't counted and neither is Lombardo.
This is how they stole votes and shaved votes imho. The anomalies also appear on Prop 144 and others. There is something going on with adjudication. The ballots were stored in a hallway that wasn't secure, boxes an… More from Rachael on Gateway:
In a follow-up post with supporting data, she wrote that the source showed a breakdown of ballots sent to adjudication, with overvotes accounting for more than half.
The figures provided show daily totals from November 1–6 ranging from roughly 5,500 to over 14,000, for a total of 153,404 ballots routed to adjudication.
Of those:
Ballots with Overvote: 54.70%
Ballots with Ambiguous: 27.82%
Ballots with Write-in: 17.27%
More from Gateway:
Alexander has documented other Maricopa concerns leading into the general election, including poll-watcher reports of broken tabulators, site-book failures, and mysterious party-registration changes for Republican voters that supervisors and the county attorney dismissed.
The adjudicator's account describes a process in which ballots marked for Biggs (with an apparent correction or dual mark) are treated as overvotes and resolved against the Republican, while dual marks involving other candidates result in neither vote counting. Combined with the high percentage of overvotes among adjudicated ballots and the reported unsecured storage of ballot boxes, the claims demand scrutiny.
Here's Rachael:
As usual the Thumb hits all the right parts on the scales. The only issue is with the final point, you can’t expect the legacies to go hire journalists now, the apparatchiks are doing just fine pulling off their masquerade. Just look at how effective they were in this latest election cycle, but then when over half of the country are devoid of common sense or critical thinking it was all downhill anyway.
