I am not sure of how "transformational" or "historical" this Tea Party Convention being held in Nashville will be, but all I know is, there are a LOT of people who will be watching and there are many (from all sides of the political spectrum) who seek to destroy it and in effect, destroy the entire movement the convention has come to represent.
The other day, I was reminded of how Sarah Palin's church in Wasilla was nearly destroyed in December by an arson fire. Investigators concluded someone with malicious intent started the fire and intended for the building to be burned, even while innocent men, women, and children were inside.
I realized how Palin, and those like her, truly ARE risking everything and put so much on the line to be a voice for the people, to stand up to entrenched power. Let's not forget, the Palin family was nearly driven to bankruptcy with all the frivolous lawsuits she faced. The people who seek to destroy her, don't just care about destroying her politically--they are willing to damage her personally, and her children are not off limits either.
We must not underestimate the wicked lows human beings are capable of and be especially aware of what we are up against! Think about it, we are very much, at "war" with the "secular-progressive" left, a movement based upon evils such as eugenics, a hatred for Biblical Christianity, and the murder of innocent, unborn children. A movement that seeks to lead our country, step by step, to the socialist models ultimately inspired by some of the most brutal, totalitarian, communist regimes in history.
Let's not forget, that Saul Alinsky, the author of, "Rules for Radicals" the go-to handbook for many on the left, particularly to those in the Obama Administration, prefaced his book by dedicating it to the Lucifer, the Devil himself...the "first radical."
So we are quite blatantly up against people who seek to do the Devil's work. Therefore we must put the battle being waged in this country in perspective. It is a spiritual battle for the heart and soul of this nation--and we cannot wage it without the Lord Jesus Christ's help, favor, and protection.
So, Let's Pray for His wisdom, protection, and peace. For His hand to be over the Convention, its leaders, speakers, and attendees.
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. ~ 1 Timothy 2: 1-4
