New flavor of 'Tea': Rebels eye practical path to power in '10

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --Here in the weather-controlled, domed fan tasy world that is Opryland, with its fake river and cheesy tour boat meandering through a manufactured rain forest, Tea Party Nation seems like a great idea.

This venue, a hotel and convention center that used to be a theme park, is a fairy-tale Land of Patriots where men wear white wigs under tricorn hats and women tremble with patriotic fervor wearing their American flag sweaters.

Folks here at the Tea Party movement's first national "convention" talk about all the good America stands for in the world, how their country is under constant threat from terrorists, and how they are completely fed up with a tax-addicted federal government that is out of touch and out of control.

The political world they want to influence is a world of compromise and accommodation. It is no place for "purity" and that is precisely how the American Founding Fathers designed it.

At best, these Tea Party folks have just one actual success at the ballot box that they can point to.

Can't see the forest for the trees in the "rainforest" report. Surprising it is from the NY Post but then again the unorganized, orgainzed, leaderless organization has far more than just one victory.

Somewhere along the line this dunce missed the fact that the Tea Partys and Town Halls have essentially killed the Heath Scare Bill in addition to roadblocking the Cap and Tax Bill as well. Add to it the preliminary views of what is happening to incumbents of both parties in early polling of those up for re-election in November.

Just another lost village idiot who trots out the talking points of the agenda to fractionalize and diminsh the force that will deconstruct their elitist party.

So Joe Lieberman is an Independent.

Is there an Independent Party?

Sponsoring Tea Party candidates who will caucus with the GOP when appropriate is precisely what is needed.

As for the GOP’s POTUS candidate(s), the Tea Party will have a greater influence and input.

Apparently, for the first time in years Hurt travelled into the heartland of the United States. Unless you have lived there, you cannot imagine just how insular the inhabitants of the BostWash corridor are.

Yeah I guess the abnormal mindset of both the Urban NE/the MSM/ has managed to burn out the common sense in a lot of long time paper men & denizons of MegaUrbanity.
The same can be applied to most Gov’t Job holders too!

some people said that the MA voters where furious at Washington, what they are missing is that we are furious at MSM as well and folks like Hunt, David Brooks, Noonen and even the “news” folks at Fox who sound like CNN as the report crap. See if you can tell the difference in any of the reporters on any TV show - if not for the opinion guys the media is all leftist...we are furious at them!!
