He's 84 years old and a decorated Korean War Veteran. I have been working nonstop without an off day recently, and I now live farther away from my parents than ever before. Many freepers are having hard times; I've heard of some via freepmail, seen comments on threads, and as times get harder, more of us will experience financial hardship, health problems, emotional sorrows of many kinds, family problems - the human condition. I've heard of spouses with chronic terminal illness, members here with chronic, painful and incurable ailemnts; husbands laid off and rent past due, people with relatives who have cut themselves off from contact, and countless other sorrows and problems. My Blood Dad is dying in great pain. He has broken his hip the 3rd time. His vitals are too poor to operate. They don't even know if they can move him at all due to the great pain. A humble prayer request for my father, Dick. He was treated for a tumor obstruction in his bladder earlier this year. The cancer spread elsewhere and his lone kidney doesn't work well. He has started some pain management and is sleeping. He did eat breakfast and lunch today but still needs more nurishment. He was raised Catholic but my mom is Protestant and we regularly attended services alternately wherever we lived. Please say a prayer for him and my mother who's also going through a tough time dealing with this.

Hello, FRiends. I've been here a long time and have been privileged to participate on a lot of prayer threads over the years. Never posted one, though -- I'm not even sure where to do so! So, if this needs to be moved, please do so. My R/L situation doesn't permit me to post a lot of details, but the Lord knows those. I love Him with all of my heart and mind and soul and strength and I do try to always love my neighbor in the same way I love myself. And I know how powerful the prayers...

I'd like to ask all praying FReepers to pray for my friend Jerry Ragovoy, who has suffered a massive stroke and is in a New York hospital. He's in a coma and it's a huge bleed in his brain. Jerry wrote "Piece Of My Heart," "Cry Baby," "Time Is On My Side" and hundreds of other tunes recorded by major rock and rhythm and blues acts in the 1960s and 70s. He is funny and gifted and in desperate need.
