I found a Youtube site called Visitera which portrays what it calls the “real” Iran. One video shows that Tehran is a modern, high-tech city that is spotlessly clean, where citizens ride for free on a state-of-the-art subway that is not crowded. Although they are modestly dressed, most of the women are not wearing burqas or hijabs, and the men are dressed just like Americans.
In the comment section, I wrote, “Holy Potemkin village, Batman!”

A small group of IRGC controlled the country with a small number of operatives sparsely embedded in the population to monitor and intimidate the defenseless population
As things get worse, the hated IRGC and Basij operatives lose their ability to intimidate and their ability to provide mutual support and assistance
Instead, they become isolated and cut off from their comrades and become easier targets for the people to deal with so it’s getting harder for the IRGC to maintain its power by intimidating the people

Trump’s plans are working - some are upset but his patience and consistency is bringing Iran to her knees as if the call to prayer bells are ringing 24 hours a day.
All iran had was the ability to make mischief in the worlds energy supply, and they wanted nukes to go with that. 4 prior presidents to Trump all said they could not be allowed to get them, Trump stopped them and now he has taken away their control of the strait of Hormuz.
iran may go back to what they were before the mullahs and the ayhotollas took over.
The trouble is, the Ayatollahs don't care about any of this. All they care about is obtaining nuclear weapons to use against Israel (and the U.S.). Really good news would be that the Iranian people rose up and hanged the Ayatollahs and formed a decent government.
the IRGC is the real power in iran right now ... mullahs are only figure-heads at this point ...
At one time back 50 years ago, it was like that.
I had an Iranian hair stylist back 20 years ago who escaped before the collapse.
She could go back to visit family but had to wear Burka anytime she left the house.
Plus had to have a male family member with her at all times.
Her husband could NEVER go back or he would be arrested and placed in the military forever.
Going against the Mulla was a death sentence so most Iranians either left the country or did what they were told.
