My beloved aunt had a sudden heart attack and is in intensive care in a California hospital. She seems to be out of the woods but she is in her '70's and her family's history is not good with this. She has had a sister (my mother) and a brother-in-law both killed by hospital care. I want her to get out of that place as soon as possible. She is a gem and will put a good thumbprint on this earth in her remaining years.

In early May of this year, our dear friend Flyer was diagnosed with a brain tumor and lung cancer. The doc’s told him the tumor was not curable, but treatable. His understanding of the lung cancer was that it was minor (if there is such a thing). Several weeks ago Flyer finished radiation. Tuesday was his first chemo treatment. A study on the therapeutic power of prayer has found that it provided no benefit to the recovery of patients undergoing bypass surgery. Do the results of the study affect your view of prayer? No. I will continue to pray for those in need. Yes. If it doesn't work and could even be detrimental, why do it? I do not pray in the first place. I don't have an answer.

To: All Just got word that my mom was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer today. She is a believer, so I am very thankful for that. In fact, I had the opportunity to lead her to Christ many years ago. I'll leave this thread to you guys and will be away for a while. Am making arrangements to head home this weekend.
