Dr Steve's mom needs prayer

Dr Steve has posted this note today.

The next few weeks will be very difficult for him and his family.

I can emphasize with your plight steve....my father-in-law passed away from lung cancer last month...prayers sent for steve and his mom.

I talked with the doctor this evening and he said that the cancer was in advanced stages and gave a very short life expectancy. I plan to travel home Thursday and stay through the weekend.

My dad is in good health but has some short term memory difficulties that mom was able to handle. We have some decisions in this regard that will require some wisdom.

I greatly appreciate the prayers and concern you have expressed. Will try you keep you updated.

If none of God's saints were poor and tried, we should not know half so well the consolations of divine grace. Confident of victory."

He who would glorify his God must set his account upon meeting with many trials. No man can be illustrious before the Lord unless his conflicts be many. If then, yours be a much-tried path, rejoice in it, because you will the better show forth the all-sufficient grace of God. As for His failing you, never dream of it-hate the thought. The God who has been sufficient until now, should be trusted to the end.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks for the great mercy You have shown ... that a son would lead his mother to Christ. How tender You have made their hearts for this to be so ... may they continue to rejoice in an eternal relationship that never will end. May Your healing hand rest mightily upon Steve's mother ... overrule, if You will, O God, the dire predictions for her cancer. Take hold of the anguish of her husband and give wisdom to the family in their time of distress. We pray for journey mercies for Steve as he ministers to his family ... surround each with the comfort of Your presence as they face the coming days, in the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
