The riots consuming France have caused considerable confusion. We are told the violence is a protest over poor conditions in the nation’s schools, but you do not burn down a school to get a better education. In a Truth Social post, President Trump observed: “What’s happening in France is nothing less than out-of-control mass migration. This isn’t about schools. This is about Islam wanting to take over a once great country.” The facts bear this out. (continues at link)

In "PrEP Deserts: Why HIV Prevention Still Misses Those at Risk," our experts turn to the forces behind PrEP underuse, from how people perceive their own risk to how far they must travel for care. Dr. Cocohoba introduces the concept of PrEP deserts and asks what drives underuse in Dr. Urbina's community. He calls it the million-dollar question. Gay men were the earliest adopters of PrEP, shaped by the history of the epidemic, but uptake has not spread to other groups. Dr. Urbina describes a disconnect between a person's actual risk and the risk they perceive. He argues that acquisition...

According to a statement released by Flinders University, underwater archaeologists working with the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation rangers and divers have identified sites off the northwestern coast of Australia where First Peoples lived more than 9,000 years ago, when sea levels rose and reshaped the coastline. The submerged area covers some 772,000 square miles. One of the identified sites includes a freshwater spring and stone tools, which were made using material obtained from an island about 14 miles away. Another site featured a rocky hill overlooking a river channel. "The Ngarda-Ngarli people have cared for Murujuga for at least 50,000 years,"...

Limoges Town Hall. Built in 1873. Burned in the riots of October 18, 2026.America’s blue states run France’s model. They buy dependency and tax the producers until they leave. France shows where it ends. Limoges Town Hall stood for 153 years before it burned in the riots. When politicians refuse fiscal discipline, the bond market imposes it.The UK, France, Spain and America’s blue states and cities share a governing model. Progressive ideology drives it. Its leaders misunderstand markets, monetary policy and basic fiscal mechanics. They put bloated public-sector unions and dependent constituencies ahead of the taxpayers who fund them. The...

Jean-Luc Mélenchon and the left see an opening to take the presidency next year. The riots in France turned even uglier on the weekend, spreading across the country and including brazen acts of violence. We’ve explained the underlying fiscal and political woes behind the crisis, but the news this time is the pre-election play by far-left candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Heretofore Mr. Mélenchon, head of the far-left Indomitable France party, had taken a somewhat detached attitude to the protests. But this weekend he participated in protests in Paris. He also blamed police for “unleashing” on protesters, while condemning looting and arson....

An Air Force member has died from injuries he suffered on Saturday while rappelling from the ceiling of the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, as part of a college football pre-game ceremony honoring the Armed Forces and military veterans, authorities said. The incident occurred just before kickoff between Navy and the University of Texas at San Antonio. "Once the band started playing, there was a guy that fell down," witness Adrian Corey, one of more than 23,000 people who attended the game, told ABC San Antonio affiliate station KSAT. The airman was identified as Sgt. Ian Patterson, assigned to the...

The Republicans have been doing very well in the debates this election season. We've seen Republican Mike Rogers hand Democrat Abdul El-Sayed his head in the Michigan Senate debate. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) pummeled Democrat Troy Jackson in all four of their debates in the Maine Senate race. Most recently, we saw Republican Michele Tafoya curb-stomp Democrat Peggy Flanagan in the Minnesota Senate debate. But perhaps the best debate of them all came from former federal prosecutor Saritha Komatireddy (R) in the race for Attorney General of New York. She crushed the current AG, Democrat Letitia James. Given all the...

The NFL has stopped at nothing to extend its influence overseas, but ahead of the league’s first ever game in France, it may have to contend with the French government. The Saints reportedly left for Paris immediately after their game in New York concluded today. Police arrested 1,800 people across the country as “violent groups clashed with officers and looted shops.”

A majority of California students still can’t read or do math at grade level, with new standardized test scores showing little to no gains despite years of efforts to recover from pandemic-era learning losses. Just 49.3% of students met or exceeded state English language arts standards in 2025-26, while only 38.4% reached proficiency in math, according to California’s latest test results released Thursday. The scores are from tests administered in Spring 2026. The figures mark a 0.5 percentage-point increase in English scores and a 1.1-point gain in math from the previous school year, when 48.8% of students met English standards...

Federal agents collared suspects in a slew of voter fraud cases Monday morning, chasing targets across California drawn from a list of more than 20,000 suspected noncitizens in the state who allegedly registered to vote in next month’s midterm election. Under the effort dubbed “Operation Protect the Vote,” law enforcement authorities sought more than two-dozen foreign nationals charged with fraudulently registering to vote in US elections, in which most of them allegedly cast illegal ballots. Homeland Security Investigations swooped on the Commerce home of Alexander Muñoz around 6 a.m. in one of the arrests. The agents pounded on the front...

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly floated a three-way summit between himself, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine, without Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the table. The meeting was mentioned in a phone call to Trump on Oct. 9, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing a former Russian intelligence officer briefed on the matter. Such a summit may take place at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in November in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, according to the report. The call also produced a deal for Moscow...

Former President Barack Obama sparked an online firestorm on Sunday after posting his support for Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., amid multiple federal investigations into her immigration status and finances. "It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say," Obama wrote. "But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota." The former president went on to explain in the lengthy post that the Omar situation is "appalling" and suggested the reason she is facing an investigation is that she...

French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on Monday that a state of emergency could be imposed "if needed", while adding that curfews were a better solution to the crisis over violent protests. With six months to go before France elects a successor to President Emmanuel Macron, the country was rocked over the weekend by some of its worst street violence in years. The unrest came after weeks of student demonstrations demanding better conditions in schools. "I am absolutely determined to restore order," Lecornu said after a crisis meeting, adding he did not rule out imposing a state of emergency. "If...

Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff is leading the rise of the rude Democrat. More should follow his lead. In recent weeks, I’ve been fortunate enough to observe two competing visions for Democratic senators should they retake the upper chamber in next month’s midterm elections. On the one hand, we have Senators Martin Heinrich and Sheldon Whitehouse, who announced at the end of September that they were teaming up with their Republican counterparts Mike Lee and Shelley Moore Capito on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026, which the quartet believe will “reform the federal environmental review and permitting process.”...

Elissa Slotkin was elected to the Senate in 2024 as a supposed “moderate.” But of course we know that, apart from Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, that species of Democratic politician doesn’t exist in Congress anymore. Sure enough, it didn’t take long for Slotkin, a former CIA analyst who served under John Brennan, to show her true colors. The Michigan senator told students at the University of Chicago last week how she plans to use the power that will come to Democrats if they win Senate control in the midterms next month. She wants to unleash a barrage of political investigations...

AP Photo/Thibault Camus The Fake News Media's purpose isn't to make us pay attention to what matters. It's to tell us not to believe "our lyin' eyes." Such is the case with the France riots, which have turned into an immigrant-driven orgy of violence, mayhem, arson, vandalism, and looting. Of course, that is extremely problematic for The Narrative™️that importing millions of people from impoverished, Third World nations is "cultural enrichment," even if the ungrateful, military-age foreigners inevitably riot for more handouts from their gullible host country. It just so happens that this suits the far-left. Since the Western socialist left...

It's not a desire to weaponize the justice system, it's designed to actually hold corrupt politicians accountable for what they're doing ... I want an investigation done ... With midterm elections just two weeks away, there are concerns that the federal government's pressure on election officials is breeding distrust in the system. Federal agents have seized ballots, and voting machines have been examined. The Justice Department is locked in legal battles with states across the country over information about individual voters and this past week threatened to prosecute California election officials if they knowingly count mail-in ballots from 20,000 people the Trump administration says are "likely noncitizens." It's a kind of interference Utah Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, a Republican in a deeply red state, said she's never seen...
