Florida Democrat doubles down on sending her opponent to jail

Last week, Angie Nixon said she wanted to lock up her opponent.

She was then offered a chance to amend her statement on CBS Face the Nation.

It's not a desire to weaponize the justice system, it's designed to actually hold corrupt politicians accountable for what they're doing ... I want an investigation done ... This is Donald Trump 2.0 here in the state of Florida.

I wonder how many kids are gonna die because $10 million was taken from Medicaid.

This stems from an a grand jury ruling that said funds were misappropriated, but no one was named as responsible. An appeals court then looked at the case and struck down the grand jury report.

This means there's already been an investigation. There's already been a legal ruling. Gov. DeSantis said the whole thing was an obvious hoax.

But Nixon says Republicans are guilty and AG Ashley Moody needs to go to prison because she allegedly "knew" about the scandal that turned out to be a non-scandal with no legal wrongdoing. Nixon claims this non-scandal will cause kids to die.

Even CBS' Margaret Brennan was completely shocked and taken aback by her answer.

The Democrats are the biggest danger to democracy. Change my mind!

She’s just more honest about her intent than most DSA members. Be assured, they all think this way.

Anything that stops them from taking your unjustly-acquired possessions and killing you is criminal.

Hopefully, this type of talk will get Republicans off their couches.

I wonder how many kids are gonna die because $10 million was taken from Medicaid.

Isn't this the perfect example of how the rhetoric started and flogged by institutional Democrats to incite their voters into hysteria to get them to the polls has metastasized into both supporters and actual candidates and officeholders actually believing the rhetoric out of equal parts stupidity, zealotry and self-righteousness?

If you really believe that a Republican policy of not increasing the rate of spending for Medicaid is killing children, then that's first degree - intentional - murder, isn't it? And isn't the punishment for first degree murder jail or the death penalty? Its perfectly logical.

This Senate candidate unashamedly has a photo on the wall in her shop of one Assata Shakur, whose real name was Joanne Chesimard. Miss Chesimard was convicted of the 1970s murder of NJ State Trooper Werner Foerster, shot in the head by her or her fellow Black Panthers as he lay wounded on the tarmac of I-78. Chesimard escaped from NJ prison and was taken in by the equally late and unlamented dirtball Fidel Castro until she left her wretched life and went to her master in Hell last year.

You’re giving her way too much credit. It’s not that she’s honest. I’ve heard her a bunch of times. She is impenetrably stupid. Too stupid to avoid saying out loud what they’re all planning

Florida Democratic State Representative Angie Nixon used a pink bullhorn on the Florida House floor on April 29, 2026, to protest a contentious, Gov. Ron DeSantis-backed congressional redistricting bill (HB1D).

Key Details of the Incident:

• The Protest: Dressed in a pink jumpsuit, Nixon marched down the House aisle and shouted into a hot-pink megaphone during the final vote, declaring that the redrawn map was unconstitutional and designed to gerrymander minority voters.
• Disruption: The high-volume demonstration caused confusion on the floor, temporarily disrupted the vote, and led a couple of members to momentarily cast misattributed votes. One Republican representative later filed a workers’ compensation claim, asserting the noise damaged her ears.
• The Reprimand: On May 14, 2026, the Florida House Rules and Ethics Committee voted to formally reprimand Nixon via a voice vote. This marked the first official Florida legislative reprimand in more than 20 years.
• Nixon’s Response: Nixon defended her actions, stating she would do it again to stand up against illegal redistricting maps.
Coverage and video of the floor disruption can be reviewed via CBS Miami and Fox News.
