Shocked villagers have uncovered the Government asked for assessments to place more than 3,500 male migrants at a former MoD base which would have left residents outnumbered 10 to one. The ex-MoD Bicester Site A storage depot has been earmarked by the Home Office to house at least 1,256 male asylum seekers. The staggering numbers already dwarf the population of the neighbouring village of Piddington, Oxfordshire, which is home to just 350 people. But now a tranche of newly-released government planning documents includes an Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) risk assessment, which states âthe proposed schemeâ relates to âaccommodation for 3,510 service...

The US Labor Department has suspended Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp.âs ability to file new applications for permanent labour certification, adding to scrutiny of the Indian IT services companyâs use of US employment-visa programmes. The suspension will prevent Cognizant from making fresh PERM filings until the department completes an investigation into alleged fraud involving the companyâs H-1B and PERM programmes, the department said. The probe follows complaints from whistleblowers alleging wrongdoing in Cognizantâs use of the immigration programmes. Cognizant did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The departmentâs inspector general, Anthony DâEsposito, said on X that the agency was...

The Argentine government has said that it will file criminal charges against oil company Navitas Petroleum for operating in seas off the Falkland Islands. The move came just days after Argentine President Javier Milei said he would sanction oil companies drilling in the British overseas territory in the south-west Atlantic Ocean. Sovereignty of the archipelago remains disputed between the UK and Argentina more than 40 years after a British military task force ejected Argentine forces which had invaded the territory in 1982. Speaking in the House of Commons on Tuesday, McNeill said that "the decision by the Falkland Islands government...

It was Christmas Day when Annie decided she was going to leave her husband. There had been no blowout fight, no infidelity, not even a borderline offensively thoughtless Christmas gift. But Annie had seen something she couldnât unsee. âEpisode Six: The Cottage. That was the turning point,â says Annie, a 38-year-old teacher. âI remember just sitting there thinking, This is so far from my reality.â Nine months after it aired in the U.S., where it averaged over 10.6 million viewers per episode, the influence of Heated Rivalry has only grown, so much so that it has begun to infiltrate a...

# CHAPTER ONE ## Welfare Check Deputy Caleb Mercer had spent enough years wearing a badge to understand that Saturdays had their own personality. Friday nights belonged to drunks, domestic arguments, teenagers who had borrowed more courage than judgment, and grown men who somehow reached forty without learning that nothing good followed the sentence, *Watch this*. Sunday mornings were quieter, particularly during deer season and football season, when half the county was either in church, in the woods, or sitting in front of a television. Saturdays fell somewhere in between. People had time to notice things on Saturdays. They noticed...

The Supreme Court today rejected a last-ditch effort by Missouri Republicans to use a newly drawn congressional map, which was designed to maximize their political power, for this yearâs midterm elections. In a brief order issued by Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the court left in place a Missouri Supreme Court ruling from last week that said the map could not be used while a ballot initiative moves forward that could lead to the redrawn map being tossed out by voters. Kavanaugh handles emergency requests that arise from Missouri. The 2025 Republican redistricting plan, part of a wave prompted by Trump, was...

Too many men have quit the workforce. They simply have decided not to work, not provide for their families, or offer leadership for their sons. The family unit has been collapsing in America for decades now partially because the man in the house decided comfort was more important than duty. They have been spoiled. Soft hands and weak spines. A generation of boys are being raised on screens instead of sweat. They know every video game and almost nothing about a job that leaves dirt under their fingernails. Reality for our nation is coming whether they (we) want it or...

St Paulâs Cathedral has announced a four-year collaboration with Fabric nightclub that will see DJs being brought into the capitalâs most lauded pews, designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The four-year project has provoked outrage among groups including traditionalist Christians and historic preservation societies. Descendants of Lord Nelson called it âan insultâ to his memory, âdeeply depressingâ and âan act of self-harm,â while Queen Elizabeth IIâs former chaplain called it âa betrayal of all the faithful Christian people who said their prayers there.â But wasnât St Paulâs always for music? Wrenâs domed ceiling was designed specifically for its resonant qualities, and...
