US reticence about a potential Israeli strike on Iran is misguided, shaped by an over-reliance on the lessons learned from the quagmires in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is analogous to how fears of another Vietnam almost prevented the successful 1991 Operation Desert Storm, which ultimately enabled new peace opportunities like the Madrid Conference.

Are we approaching a peak in the price of gold? According to several mainstream economists, we are indeed. But, they’re DEAD wrong and today I’ll show you why. See, their argument relies on the inflation-adjusted price of gold. In January of 1980, the price of gold reached a local peak near $850 per ounce. According to official U.S. inflation statistics, $850 in January of 1980 would be equivalent to $3,504 today. In the 45 years since then, gold has increased in value by nearly 300% to $3,346. That’s getting close to the “official” inflation-adjusted 1980 price of $3,504. So are...

The Republican Party Chairman in Sangamon County Andy Van Meter believes he is the KING MAKER. Andy Van Meter Sangamon County Republican Chairman has been referred to as the MIKE MADIGAN of Sangamon County. He hands out jobs...

About a century ago, scientists were struggling to reconcile what seemed a contradiction in Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity. Published in 1915, and already widely accepted worldwide by physicists and mathematicians, the theory assumed the universe was static – unchanging, unmoving and immutable. In short, Einstein believed the size and shape of the universe today was, more or less, the same size and shape it had always been. But when astronomers looked into the night sky at faraway galaxies with powerful telescopes, they saw hints the universe was anything but that. These new observations suggested the opposite – that...
