Last night I attended a fundraiser for a man named David Timm, He's running for Sangamon County sheriff. That's good news. In Sangamon County, we are use to not electing people, but having them appointed. Why? Because the Sangamon County Republican Party would rather appoint people, than trust the voters to elect their representatives. Which is really NO Republican Party at all.
The Republican Party Chairman in Sangamon County Andy Van Meter believes he is the KING MAKER.
Andy Van Meter Sangamon County Republican Chairman has been referred to as the MIKE MADIGAN of Sangamon County.
He hands out jobs and favors for loyalty. The Will of the People be Damned.
It's refreshing to see a new comer so to speak running for office. Not the Same old APPOINTED RETREADS.
David Timm has a wealth of Skills and most importantly Vision for the Department that's sorely Underpaid compared to the surrounding Police Departments in and around the area, that's why officers keep leaving, their pay is rock bottom. There will be, it sounds like a lot more revealing about the state of our County, and unfortunately it's not that good. But it must be revealed. Much of what is happening nationwide is about the Institutions, (like the sheriff's office) is not serving the taxpayers well.
Thankfully men like David Timm are courageous enough to stand up and let the people of Sangamon County the real state of our county!

We’re talking Springfield, IL aren’t we?
Because the _______ County Republican Party would rather appoint people, than trust the voters to elect their representatives.
It's the same all over, the County GOP committee's are little patronage fiefdoms chaired by self important people that have no interest in conservative policies, just power and influence and jobs.
