Americans are facing the highest death toll from influenza since 2018, just as more people become vulnerable because of growing vaccine skepticism taking hold in statehouses and the Trump administration.Flu-related deaths hit a seven-year high in January and February, the two months that usually account for the height of flu season, according to a Stateline analysis of preliminary federal statistics. Then-President Ronald Reagan was widely mocked by Democrats in 1983 when he proposed a âStar Warsâ-like weapons system (the Strategic Defense Initiative aka SDI) designed to protect the United States from attack. Many years later, some of the technology developed was incorporated into Israelâs famed âIron Domeâ defense systemsâto great effect, as the weapons have been able to knock down countless missiles and projectiles lobbed into the Jewish state by its many enemies.Donald Trump took notice, and he wants such a system for the entire United Statesâthe âGolden Domeââand defense officials are preparing to show the president preliminary plans after...

On March 16, I wrote here about Chatterbox Jazz, a club in Indianapolis where a bartender of the he/she/it variety petulantly grabbed a baseball bat and threatened a MAGA hat-wearing customer to get out of the bar, or else. The place was inundated both with patriots noting the âtolerantâ leftâs hypocrisy and intolerance, and with leftists cheering on the boneless bartenderâs courageous stand against MAGA âfascism.â Now, the club itself has issued a statement about the incident, but itâs not what it should have been: an apology and an affirmation that the club welcomes anyone. Instead, Chatterbox doubled down, and...

Plenty of cities are famous for one thing or another. With Boston it is beans; Philadelphia is known for a certain cheese steak sandwich, Memphis for barbecue, Los Angeles for show business (and massive homeless encampments) and San Francisco - well, it was once known as a place for fine cuisine, but now it's notorious for poop maps. Chicago was once known for baseball, a specific style of pizza, and its museums. Nowadays, though, Chicago has another claim to fame notoriety; it is, for the 13th year in a row, the murder capital of the United States. For the 13th consecutive...

Attorney General Pam Bondi launched a forceful attack on members of the federal judiciary Sunday, accusing judges of overstepping their authority and obstructing President Donald Trumpâs policy agenda. During a Fox News interview on Sunday Morning Futures, Bondi said recent rulings against key administration initiatives reflect a judiciary that is âout of control.â Bondi specifically criticized federal judges who have paused or struck down Trump-era policies, including deportations under the Alien Enemies Act, environmental funding rollbacks, and bans affecting transgender military service. âThis is an out-of-control judge, a federal judge, trying to control our entire foreign policy, and he cannot...

It was just revealed that the Biden administration intentionally buried an âinconvenientâ study in order to justify an energy crackdown. Of course, weâre seldom shocked to hear that politics is, well, political. But what about when study authors themselves bury, or otherwise obscure, inconvenient data? This not only happens, says a Ph.D. scientist with more than 20 years experience, but is actually common in research. In fact, the picture painted by Dr. Lorene Leiter reveals, the mainstream science establishment is much like our mainstream media establishment: a realm where lies may reign supreme.Explaining her background, Leiter states that she âearned...

Dark energy, a mysterious force that scientists believe is behind the accelerated expansion of the universe, is weakening â which could result in the universe over the course of billions of years collapsing on itself, according to new research. A new at-home saliva test could help identify men with a high risk of prostate cancer more accurately than blood tests, leading to earlier diagnosis and more successful treatment. Prostate cancer is the second most common form of cancer among men, after skin cancer. Currently, there is no standard test to screen for prostate cancer. A doctor may draw blood for a prostate-specific antigen test (PSA) or perform a rectal exam, but both of these types of screenings require follow-ups before a diagnosis can be made. PSA blood tests measure the level of a specific molecule produced by the prostate....

Researchers are warning that men who regularly dodge prostate cancer screening appointments are 45% more likely to die from the disease. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men and the second-leading cause of cancer deaths, according to UC San Francisco (UCSF). But if screening programs are introduced on a national scale â particularly those that measure levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood â they could give men earlier access to treatment, experts say. They would thus have a better chance of being cured, according to reporting by news agency SWNS and others.
