Researchers are warning that men who regularly dodge prostate cancer screening appointments are 45% more likely to die from the disease.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men and the second-leading cause of cancer deaths, according to UC San Francisco (UCSF). But if screening programs are introduced on a national scale — particularly those that measure levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood — they could give men earlier access to treatment, experts say.
They would thus have a better chance of being cured, according to reporting by news agency SWNS and others.

Researchers are warning that men who regularly dodge prostate cancer screening appointments are 45% more likely to die from the disease. In other news, people who do not look both ways before crossing the street might also be in danger.
Dodging, skipping anything tried and true, medically speaking, is, well, stupid. In the current mRNA insanity, avoiding genetic therapy, experimentation, is just common sense. <>

So skipping the screening is the troubling behavior?

Don’t all men get some prostate cancer if they live long enough?

PSA is a blood test. Why wouldn’t you have one with an annual check up?
I never understood how something so simple could be ignored. Dining from prostate cancer is a lot less fun than a blood test.

My husband found out he had it at 50. Caught just before it spread. It had spread just outside the prostate, but they got it all with surgery.
Guys, go get a PSA screening!

Every man, if they get old enough, will get prostate cancer.
No exceptions.

My PSA levels are checked during every single 6 month check up I have. Except for one abnormal reading, I’ve been clean, and I think that one hiccup was manufactured so the local postrate doctor could get caught up on his bills.

I get a blood test every six months and an MRI every other year. My PSA was high so….

I apologize in advance for the crudeness, but a former medic in Vietnam, who was studying medicine, told me if a man took a good, healthy shit every day, he probably wouldn’t get prostate cancer. So far, so good, the PSA looked good.

V.A. stopped taking the PSA test as a matter of a routine exam...near as I can figure, too many false positives.
They will take the test if you are being treated for a prostate problems.

I have been going in 2x per year for the past 20 years to my urologist. I am 63 years old. Over this time, I have been through 2 biopsies (they suck) but no cancer. My PSA’s can be quite variable (5.1 to a 4.2 one month later). But, I’ve found if I drink lots of water and knock off my bourbon drinking, my PSA’s tend to be lower.
Both of grandfathers and one Uncle have had the disease, so I am aware of my elevated risk. I sucks to get old but I consider myself fortunate in the broad scheme of things.

Guys, please get your PSA checked. This is a truly easy item to help identify something that could be serious.
Just do it every year or two. Women get their own tests. This one is right for us.
I have gotten mine from my doctor or from Direct Labs, which contracts through Quest.
