My PSA levels are checked during every single 6 month check up I have. Except for one abnormal reading, I’ve been clean, and I think that one hiccup was manufactured so the local postrate doctor could get caught up on his bills.

I have been going in 2x per year for the past 20 years to my urologist. I am 63 years old. Over this time, I have been through 2 biopsies (they suck) but no cancer. My PSA’s can be quite variable (5.1 to a 4.2 one month later). But, I’ve found if I drink lots of water and knock off my bourbon drinking, my PSA’s tend to be lower.

Both of grandfathers and one Uncle have had the disease, so I am aware of my elevated risk. I sucks to get old but I consider myself fortunate in the broad scheme of things.
