Researchers are warning that men who regularly dodge prostate cancer screening appointments are 45% more likely to die from the disease. In other news, people who do not look both ways before crossing the street might also be in danger.
Dodging, skipping anything tried and true, medically speaking, is, well, stupid. In the current mRNA insanity, avoiding genetic therapy, experimentation, is just common sense. <>

So skipping the screening is the troubling behavior?

PSA is a blood test. Why wouldn’t you have one with an annual check up?
I never understood how something so simple could be ignored. Dining from prostate cancer is a lot less fun than a blood test.

Every man, if they get old enough, will get prostate cancer.
No exceptions.

My PSA levels are checked during every single 6 month check up I have. Except for one abnormal reading, I’ve been clean, and I think that one hiccup was manufactured so the local postrate doctor could get caught up on his bills.

I apologize in advance for the crudeness, but a former medic in Vietnam, who was studying medicine, told me if a man took a good, healthy shit every day, he probably wouldn’t get prostate cancer. So far, so good, the PSA looked good.

particularly those that measure levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood
V.A. stopped taking the PSA test as a matter of a routine exam...near as I can figure, too many false positives.
They will take the test if you are being treated for a prostate problems.

Guys, please get your PSA checked. This is a truly easy item to help identify something that could be serious.
Just do it every year or two. Women get their own tests. This one is right for us.
I have gotten mine from my doctor or from Direct Labs, which contracts through Quest.

Insurance companies and socialized medicine providers discouraged PSA screening on the pretense that it resulted in “over treatment”, as though that was a mandatory outcome. More stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer on initial diagnosis was the outcome. It was about SAVING MONEY, not concern about over treatment. A competent doctor and an informed patient almost always solves the “over treatment” dilemma.

Beau just had his PSA blood test done. Clean as a whistle. He is 65 and is starting to lose (older) hunting buddies at an alarming rate to various ‘old age maladies,’ so suddenly his general health seems to be of more importance. ;)
Prayers Answered! :)
P.S. As an ADDED BONUS, the more s-e-x you have in the course of your ADULT lifetime, the lower your risk (close to 40%!) of prostate cancer. Use it or lose it, Boys!
